Do the bananas need to be ripe?

Whenever you are using bananas in a baking recipe, it is always preferred that they are nice and ripe.

If you don’t have any ripe bananas, make sure to check out my banana muffins recipe where I explain how to make your bananas ripe enough for this recipe.

Is cinnamon necessary?

While you definitely can make this recipe without using cinnamon in the pancake batter, however, it does add great flavor to the pancakes!

How to Make Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes:

Step 1: Make the batter

Combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon together in a medium mixing bowl.

Then, add in the milk, egg, and vanilla extract, stirring it all together to combine it together.

Once that is done, mix in the mashed ripe bananas along with the chocolate chips until incorporated.

Step 2: Fry the pancakes

Once you are ready to make the pancakes preheat the air fryer with the pizza pan inside at 320 degrees F or 160 degrees C for 5 minutes.

Then, spray the pizza pan with oil and pour the pancake batter onto the pan, however big you want your pancake to be. I did around 1/4 cup of mix.

Now cook the pancake at 320 degrees F or 160 degrees C for 6-8 min, or until the pancake is done to your liking. You can flip at the halfway point, although this is optional.
