50+ Healthy Make Ahead Freezer Meals
Healthy Freezer Meals on a Budget
When you’re living frugally, freezer meals are going to be one of your best friends. They’ll save you time, they’ll make sure you have less food waste, and they’re just all-around convenient. They’ll also save you a lot of money if you stock up on foods and use coupons (check out these other ways to save at the grocery store without coupons too.)
However, there are definitely different types of freezer meals. There are the ones you can buy at the grocery store, which aren’t so cheap OR healthy. And then, there are the homemade freezer meals. The latter is what we want because they’re healthy, and they’re also quite cheap to make if you go about it the right way.
Over the years we’ve done a lot of freezer meal cooking ourselves, and we’ve had some great recipes and some not so good ones. Here are some of our favorite make-ahead freezer meal recipes for eating healthy on a budget!
20 Freezer Meals in 3 Hours or Less
I’ve compiled our top Freezer Meal recipes into a cookbook app that helps you build your shopping list in minutes! I take you thru the entire Freezer Meal Cooking process – you can make 20 freezer meals in less than 3 hours!! Learn more HERE!
1. Creamy Chicken Taquitos
Have you ever had those frozen taquitos you can buy at the grocery store before? They’re not bad, but they’re definitely not the best. These homemade chicken taquitos take only 30-minutes to make and they’re a whole lot more flavorful and healthy!
2. Crock-Pot Beef and Mushrooms
This healthy crock-pot beef and mushrooms recipe is just delicious. It does take a bit longer to prep (30 minutes) but then you can just throw it in the slow cooker! Easy.
3. Skillet Honey Lime Tilapia
Another very healthy freezer meal recipe here. This one is going to take a bit more time out of your day but it will definitely be worth it! This meal is super nutritious, high in protein, and so flavorful.
4. Whole Wheat Blender Pancakes
When you think of healthy freezer meals you may not think of pancakes but it’s one of my favorite freezer meals to make! Breakfast can be a super busy and rushed time so having some healthy pancake batter ready to go is wonderful.
5. Honey Sesame Chicken
I really love it when freezer meals collide with the slow cooker or instant pot because it just makes for such an EASY meal. And get this: this honey sesame chicken clocks in at just 7 Weight Watchers Freestyle points!
6. Honey Teriyaki Chicken
If you like the honey sesame chicken above, you’re probably going to enjoy this honey teriyaki chicken as well. It’s in the same shredded style but with a nice sweet honey teriyaki sauce. Oh yeah, and this one is only 5 Weight Watchers points! It works in the slow cooker or instant pot too.
7. Pasta e Fagioli Olive Garden Copycat
If you love a good soup recipe, you really can’t go wrong with this Olive Garden copycat. It honestly tastes almost exactly like the real thing. Plus, it’s quick to prepare and of course, it’s nice and healthy.
8. Honey Garlic Meatballs
Meatballs are versatile while also being extremely delicious all on their own, and these honey garlic meatballs are some of the best. Only 5 minutes to prep, cookable in a slow cooker or instant pot, and only 6 weight watchers points!
9. Biscuits
These aren’t quite a full meal but they do make for a quick and easy breakfast or side! I love having some frozen biscuits on hand just in case.
10. Breakfast Smoothie
You can really almost turn any smoothie recipe into a freezer meal, but this breakfast smoothie is one of my favorites. It’s under 200 calories and it’s packed with foods that will give you lasting energy.
11. Zupas Copycat Yucatan Chicken Tortilla Soup
This is another amazing soup recipe that is healthy and absolutely delicious. It only takes about 10 minutes to prep as well!
12. Cilantro Lime Chicken
This freezable cilantro lime chicken is quick to prepare and easily cooked in the slow cooker. Put it in a tortilla and you’ve got a meal!
13. Garlic Pork Stir-Fry
I love a good stir-fry – especially one that is easy to make! This garlic pork can be prepared and ready to serve in about 30 minutes total and it’s delicious served over rice.
14. Keto Taco Bites
If you’re on or just starting the keto diet, you know how vital it is to have keto-friendly snacks on hand for when you get hungry. These keto taco bites are perfect for that. Super delicious and you can simply heat them from frozen!
