Have you ever tried air fryer mushrooms? If you have not, let me tell you, you are missing out! I absolutely love the tenderness that the air fryer gives this easy side dish.

What is also great is that you will probably already have everything you need to make these air fryer mushrooms in your pantry—making them a super budget-friendly dish.

Ingredients and Supplies Needed to Make Air Fryer Sauteed Mushrooms:

Ingredients:

  • Butter
  • White or brown mushrooms, quartered
  • Italian seasoning
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • Soy sauce
  • Garlic, minced
  • Fresh Parsley, finely chopped

Supplies:

  • Air fryer (Cosori Pro II works beautifully!)
  • Silicone pot
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Wooden spoon

Should I Marinate the Mushrooms Beforehand?

I would say, that if you want to marinate the mushrooms in the soy sauce and seasonings you definitely could do that.

However, it is not really necessary as the air fryer will grill these mushrooms up wonderfully and with tons of flavor.

Can I Use Something Besides the Silicone Pot?

Not everyone has a silicone pot, so no that is not a deal breaker for this dish. If you have another air fryer safe dish, such as a cake barrel then you can use that too!

I just love using the silicone for easy cleanup and helps prevent the food from sticking a little more.

Can You Freeze Air Fryer Mushrooms?

These air fryer mushrooms taste great fresh! But if you wanted to double the batch and freeze the leftovers that would work too!

Just make sure they cool down to room temperature before you freeze them, and then store them in a freezer-safe ziplock bag or airtight container. They will last for up to 3 months in the freezer.

How to Make Air Fryer Mushrooms:

Step 1: Prepare the Mushrooms and Air Fryer

Start by cutting the mushrooms into quarters.

Then place the silicone pot in the air fryer along with 2 tablespoons of butter and heat it in the air fryer for 2 minutes at 350F or 176C.

Step 2: Begin Cooking the Mushrooms

After the butter has melted in the air fryer, remove the basket from the air fryer and add the cubed mushrooms to the silicone pot along with another tablespoon of cubed butter over the top of the mushrooms.

Now return the air fryer basket to the air fryer and cook the mushrooms for 4 minutes at 350F or 176C.

Step 3: Season the Mushrooms

Once the mushrooms are done cooking, they should start to become more tender.

Remove the basket from the air fryer and add in the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper and place the basket back in the air fryer.

Set the timer for another 3 minutes at the same temperature.

Step 4: Add the Sauce

Now that the mushrooms have finished cooking, open up the air fryer and pour the soy sauce and minced garlic into the pot and mix it all together.

Turn the air fryer back on for another 4 minutes, or until the mushrooms have begun to caramelize and are to your liking.

Then remove the mushrooms, serve and enjoy them warm!

Sides to Serve

When you are trying to plan your meals, the air fryer does not have to be solely for making the main meal or entree. It is also great for helping prepare your sides to accompany your main dish.
