What’s New for Prime Big Deal Days 2026?
One of the biggest things to know about this year’s sale is Today’s Big Deals.
Amazon plans to release new limited-time deal drops three times each day during Prime Big Deal Days:
- 12 a.m. PDT / 2 a.m. CT
- 8 a.m. PDT / 10 a.m. CT
- 1 p.m. PDT / 3 p.m. CT
Amazon says some of these limited-time drops will feature savings of 55% or more.
What does that mean for you? Don’t assume that checking Amazon once Tuesday morning means you’ve seen all the deals. New offers will continue dropping throughout both days.
And no, you don’t need to stay up all night Monday. 😉 We’ll be watching.
Use Amazon’s Deal Alerts Before the Sale
Amazon is also highlighting its shopping tools to help shoppers keep track of changing prices.
If you use Alexa, Alexa for Shopping can help you check whether products on your Amazon Lists are on sale and alert you about deals on items you’re watching.
This is a good weekend to:
- Add products you’re considering to an Amazon List
- Check your saved items for early price drops
- Turn on shopping notifications you actually want
- Decide what you need before the sale starts
- Set a budget before the countdown timers start appearing everywhere

Should You Buy an Early Deal or Wait Until October 6?
A good early deal doesn’t automatically get better when Prime Big Deal Days begins.
We’ve covered Amazon’s major shopping events for years, and our biggest advice is to focus on the actual price—not the sale label.
- If it’s something you already planned to buy and the price is genuinely good, buying early can make sense.
- Don’t assume the advertised percentage off tells the whole story. Compare the actual selling price.
- Check other retailers. Walmart and Target are competing for the same shoppers this week.
- Don’t buy something just because a timer is counting down. A deal on something you didn’t need isn’t really savings.
- Use alerts instead of constantly refreshing Amazon. Let us help with that part.

Amazon vs. Walmart vs. Target This Week
This is especially important in October 2026 because Amazon isn’t the only retailer holding a major sale.
- Walmart Deals: October 5–11
- Target Circle 360 early access: Select offers begin October 5
- Amazon Prime Big Deal Days: October 6–7
- Target Circle Deal Days: October 6–7
That overlap is good news for shoppers. Popular electronics, toys, appliances, household products and holiday gifts may be discounted at more than one retailer.
Before buying an expensive item on Amazon, take a minute to check the competing price.

But you don’t have to wait. Early deals are already live, and we’re already finding significant discounts across Amazon devices, kitchen, home, tech and holiday gifts.
Our advice? Shop based on the actual price, not the countdown clock. With Walmart starting its sale Monday and Target joining Amazon on Tuesday, there will be plenty of opportunities to compare before you buy.
