Roasted Sweet Potatoes
I am coming to you today with the most wonderful air fryer roasted sweet potatoes recipe. It is seriously such a simple recipe that you can make at home with little to no prep time when you need to add a healthy side dish to dinner.
For the longest time I never tried sweet potatoes. I am not sure if it was the color of them or the fact that I didn’t think potatoes should be sweet. But, man was I missing out for so long! When you make the sweet potatoes in the air fryer you will get the best roasted chunks of sweet potatoes that are crispy yet tender.
Ingredients and Supplies Needed for The Best Roasted Sweet Potatoes Recipe:
- Sweet potatoes
- Olive oil
- Your favorite seasonings
- Air fryer
- Cutting board
- Ziplock bag

How Small Should Roasted Sweet Potatoes Be?
I love cutting these sweet potatoes cut up into small bite-sized pieces. It is nice because it makes it easy to eat, but also allows the potatoes to cook even faster. However, you don’t want to cut them too small or they might burn easily.
Should I Skin the Sweet Potatoes?
I generally like to skin the sweet potatoes if I use them as diced pieces. They cook a little bit better all the way through and brown up more evenly. But, if you like the skin you are welcome to keep them on since they are edible and have added fiber too!
Spices to Use for Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes can be made in many different ways and with different spices. Happy Muncher gives great ideas for different spices to pair together with sweet potatoes. But let me get you started, here are a few of my favorite spices to use with these roasted sweet potatoes:

How to Make Roasted Sweet Potatoes in the Air Fryer:
Step 1: Prepare the Sweet Potatoes
When you are ready to make the sweet potatoes, start by washing, peeling, and chopping the sweet potatoes into bite-sized pieces about a ½ inch cubes.
Step 2: Season the Sweet Potatoes
After you have the sweet potatoes cut up, place them in a ziplock bag and then pour in the oil and whichever spices you like.
I like to use about ½ tsp cumin, ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp paprika, and some salt and pepper to taste.
Then close up the bag and toss the sweet potatoes in the oil and seasonings until they are covered.
Step 3: Cook the Sweet Potatoes
Place the chopped-up sweet potatoes in the air fryer basket and turn the air fryer on at 360F or 182C for about 10-12 minutes or until they are tender and can be easily pierced with a fork.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes
- Cutting board
- Ziplock bag or bowl
- 2-3 Sweet Potatoes
- ½ tsp Cumin
- ½ tsp Garlic powder
- ½ tsp Paprika
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Peel and chop the sweet potatoes and cut into 1/2 inch cubes.
- Toss with oil and seasonings.
- Air Fry at 360 °F for 10-12 minutes or until as tender to your liking.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
