I am coming to you with the best version of the delicious famous TikTok feta penne pasta recipe that everyone has seen. It is such a great recipe that you can make using fresh ingredients and flavor to your personal tastes.

What is nice is you can boil up your noodles while the sauce cooks in the air fryer in less time than it takes to make it in the oven. Talk about a win-win, a simple dinner made in less time!

Ingredients Needed for This All in One Air Fryer Feta Penne Pasta:

Ingredients:

  • Penne pasta
  • Feta cheese block
  • Olive oil
  • Grape tomatoes
  • Minced garlic
  • Salt
  • Fresh basil

Supplies:

  • Air fryer
  • Pot for cooking pasta
  • Air fryer safe dish (must be able to fit in your air fryer)
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Spatula

For this recipe, I use my Cosori 5.8QT air fryer along with an air fryer safe dish. Something along the lines of an 8 ½ inch tin foil cake pan can work or any other dish you have used previously in the air fryer.

Choose Toppings to Fit Your Tastes

You can dress this recipe up or down as much as you want. It tastes fantastic topped with some fresh basil but you can do without it if you’d like.

Give These Toppings a Try:

  1. Fresh pico de gallo
  2. Chopped tomatoes
  3. Pesto sauce
  4. Fresh mozzarella cheese
  5. Cruton crumbles (this can add a nice crunch!)

Does the Feta Need to be Chopped Up Beforehand?

There is no need to chop up the feta ahead of time when you are making this feta penne pasta. After baking the cheese it will become perfectly soft so that it will mix in just fine without the extra steps of chopping it up.

Not a Fan of Chunky Sauce?

The way this recipe is made, you will have those delightful chunks of tender tomatoes amongst the penne noodles. However, might not be everyone’s favorite texture.

If you prefer a nice and smooth sauce, all you have to do is pour the contents of the dish from the air fryer into a blender or food processor and blend it until you reach your desired texture.

How to Make All in One Air Fryer Feta Penne Pasta:

Step 1: Preheat the Air Fryer and Cook the Penne

Start by plugging in the air fryer and preheating the air fryer to 320F or 160C for 3-5 minutes. While that is heating up, begin to boil the water for the penne.

Once the water reaches a boil, cook the noodles according to the directions on the package. When the pasta is done, reserve about ½ cup of the pasta water for later.

Step 2: Prepare the Tomatoes

Using an air fryer safe dish that fits in your air fryer, place the olive oil into the bottom of the pan along with the halved tomatoes, minced garlic, and salt.

Stir the tomatoes around to make sure they are covered in oil, salt, and garlic.

Step 3: Add the Feta

Once the tomatoes are prepared, move them to the edges of the dish and place the block of feta into the center.

Then place the pan in the air fryer basket and put it in the air fryer at 320F or 160C for 8 minutes, or until the feta becomes slightly browned and the tomatoes are roasted.

Step 4: Break Up the Feta

After the 8 minutes are up, remove the air fryer basket and use a spatula to carefully press on the block of feta to break it up a little bit.

Then return the basket to the air fryer and cook the ingredients for another 3 minutes at  380F or 193C or until the tomatoes are completely roasted and the cheese is melted to your liking.

Step 5: Mix the Sauce and Finish!

When the feta is done melting, remove the dish from the air fryer and use a spatula to mix the feta and roasted tomatoes together until they are well combined.

Then combine the penne with the sauce (in a bigger dish if needed). If you feel the sauce is too thick, use the reserved pasta water to add to the bowl and mix it together, adding more water until you get your desired thickness.

Now top the pasta with fresh basil and enjoy!

Equipment

  • Air fryer safe dish
  • Pot for pasta
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 5 oz Penne pasta
  • 4 oz Feta cheese block
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • ½ lb Grape tomatoes
  • 2 tsp Minced garlic (more or less to taste)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer and start cooking pasta if not already cooked. Reserve about ¼-½ cup of water once the pasta finishes.
  • Use an air fryer safe dish that will fit in your air fryer basket. (I used a 8.5 inch tin foil cake pan). Any pan should work fine.
  • Place the oil in the bottom of the dish.
  • Halve the tomatoes and add them to the dish. Add the garlic and salt. Stir everything together to coat the tomatoes in the oil and garlic.
  • Move the tomatoes to the side of the dish and place the feta block in the middle of the dish. Move the tomatoes to be in a single layer around the feta block of cheese.
  • Air fry at 320 °F for 8 minutes, or until the feta is slightly browned and tomatoes are roasted. 
  • With a spatula, gently press down on the feta cheese and tomatoes to break apart. Air fry for 3 more minutes at 380 °F, or until everything is roasted and melty to your liking.
  • Stir the cheese and tomatoes together until well combined. Combine with the penne pasta. You may need to transfer to a separate dish. If the cheese and tomato mixture is too thick for your liking, take some of the reserved pasta water and add a little to the bowl until pasta reaches desired consistency.
  • Serve with fresh basil and enjoy!
