How to Cook Brussels Sprouts in the air fryer?

how to cook brussels sprouts in the air fryer

Brussels sprouts and potatoes cook so nicely in the air fryer. Especially when you need them for a sheet pan dinner. Before you cook the food in the air fryer, be sure to cut the potatoes and Brussels sprouts in half or in bite sized pieces. The smaller you cut them the quicker they will cook in the air fryer.

Season the Brussels sprouts and the potatoes with 2½ tablespoons of olive oil and 3½ tablespoons of  Maple Bacon Seasoning until evenly coated.

Then, place the brussels sprouts and potatoes in the air fryer basket and cook at 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius for 5-7 minutes.

Air fryer salmon is one of those foods that are just so much better and quicker in the air fryer. To make air fryer salmon, first season the salmon fillets with the rest of the olive oil (1 1/2 tablespoons) and maple bacon seasoning (1 1/2 tablespoons).

Then, when the vegetables have finished cooking of the first 5 to 7 minutes, open the air fryer basket. Give the vegetables a nice stir, then place the salmon on top of the vegetables. Cook for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit or 62.7 degrees Celsius and flakes easily with a fork.

How do I know when my food is done cooking in the air fryer?

The salmon will be done cooking when it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit or 62.7 degrees Celsius and flakes easily with a fork. The potatoes and brussels sprouts will be done cooking when they are tender. You can test that with a fork.

If the salmon is done, but the vegetables still need a couple of extra minutes. Then, place the salmon on a plate and cover it with foil. Cook the vegetables for a couple of extra minutes, or until they are tender to your liking.

Use an instant read food thermometer to get perfect results with your air fryer cooking!

  • Maple Bacon Seasoning is $9.99 to $16 dollars online. Too expensive for me. I shop in the largest grocery store in Tallahassee Fl and they don’t carry this seasoning. Is there a substitute seasoning that I can use that isn’t so expensive?

    • Hi Lisa! Great question, you could try any of your favorite seasonings. I think a garlic and herb seasoning would taste great for example. You could also try to make a homemade version of maple & bacon seasoning by using real maple syrup and bacon bits. Whisk together about 1/4 cup oil with 1/4 cup maple syrup, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp pepper and then cook it with 4 bacon slices cut into bacon bits or bite size pieces. (Check out this maple bacon brussels sprouts recipe for inspiration https://fabulesslyfrugal.com/recipes/air-fryer-brussels-sprouts-with-bacon/). Just make enough to cover the vegetables and the salmon as well. Let me know what you end up trying and how it went for you!

  • Sounds delicious. Can I use cod instead of salmon? I order Martha Stewart’s dinner recipes and dinner packages. I don’t like some of the recipes but find most of her ingredients very fresh. Weekly I purchase two fish out of four meals. Most of the recipes have sour cream and cheese. I don’t like cheese with my proteins. ( My grandparents and parents kept kosher most of my life. I did for 15 yrs ) so I alter her recipes to my and my Maltipoo’s liking. ( if fish or chicken )

I also want one of our NEW EDITION BOOKS. You stated that Amazon is selling the last edition. I want the bigger book with the additional changes. Your recipes are right on. Your rotisserie-style chicken is out of this world. Plus others.

    • Hey Rhonda, thanks for the review! Yes, you can use cod instead of salmon. Adapt the cooking time if needed until the cod reaches internal temp of 145F/63C. You can get the newest edition of the cookbook from our website: yummyairfryerrecipes.com.
