You only need a few ingredients to make the chicken taste amazing. I love to use just a little paprika because it really brings a good flavor that is quite a showstopper. You will love the flavors and ingredients of this chicken recipe. You will need:

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¾ teaspoon onion powder

I also love that these are all ingredients that I already have in my pantry! It is a simple and easy dinner for sure!

Easy 4 ingredient Honey Balsamic Recipe Sauce

Just like the ingredients for the chicken, the homemade honey balsamic vinegar marinade is made with pantry staples that when combined are a recipe for greatness! This simple honey balsamic recipe includes:

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 4 cloves garlic minced (2 tsp of minced garlic)

In a separate small bowl, mix together the ketchup, honey, balsamic vinegar, and minced garlic. One way that I like to mix together ingredients like ketchup and honey is to place a bowl on a scale. Then pour the ketchup and honey directly into the bowl.

  • 2 tablespoons of ketchup equals about 29.4 grams.
  • 2 tablespoons of honey is about 42.5 grams.
  • 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar is about 32 grams.

Air Fryer Chicken Instructions

the best chicken rub

First, pat dry the two chicken breasts. Then, place the two chicken breasts in between sheets of parchment paper and use a meat pounder to pound the chicken breasts to even out the meat. This will help the chicken cook evenly in the air fryer.

Then, season the chicken with the paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. First, mix the seasonings together in a small bowl. Then rub the seasonings on the chicken breasts.

Air Fryer Cooking Instructions

When the chicken is ready, I like to set my chicken on the kitchen counter at room temperature for about 15 or so minutes to let it temper. But this is optional. You will, however, want to preheat the air fryer at 400˚F/200˚C for 5 minutes.

Next, place the chicken in the air fryer and cook at 380˚F/193˚C for 12 minutes, flipping chicken halfway through cooking. At the halfway point, be sure to brush on any remaining glaze.

When is my chicken done cooking?

Once the chicken registers at 165°F or 74°C then it is done cooking. You can also pull the chicken out once it reaches around 160°F or 71°C and cover it in foil to let it come to temperature. This helps the juices evenly distribute among the chicken and will keep your chicken from drying out.

  • I’m making this balsamic chicken recipe tonight. I see olive oil in the ingredients, but I do not see it in the recipe? It is not in the rub, or the marinade, is it?
