What makes this a Caprese Quiche?

The standard ingredients for anything Caprese have to do with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil.

When you mix all of those together into the egg mixture you get the best quiche you’ve ever had! Not to mention a pretty healthy breakfast option.

Should I mix the fresh basil into the egg mixture?

While you are more than welcome to add in any spices that you wish, when we made this recipe we left the basil out of the egg base and just chopped it up and used it fresh on top.

However, if you choose to add it to the quiche before it is cooked you will end up with even more flavor in the quiche.

How to Make Air Fryer Caprese Quiche:

Step 1: Create the egg mixture

Whisk together the egg whites, eggs, milk, shredded mozzarella cheese, basil, garlic salt, and pepper together in a medium bowl.

Step 2: Prepare the dishes

Pour about 1/2 cup of egg mixture into ramekins. Makes enough for 8 Ramekins. Or, pour it into a cake dish, pizza pan, or other air fryer-safe dish. The size of your air fryer and the size of your dish will affect how much of the egg mixture you can cook at once. Don’t fill the dish more than halfway full.

Once the ramekins (or cake pan) are filled, place a sliced tomato on top of the egg mixture.

Step 3: 1st Bake of the quiche

Place in the dish(es) in the air fryer basket and cook for 15 minutes at 330 degrees F or 166 degrees C. (If you are cooking in an air fryer dish, cook for 20 minutes, add mozzarella cheese slices then cook for an additional 10-13 minutes)

Step 4: 2nd Bake of the quiche

After the quiche is done baking for the first time, open the air fryer and place a slice of fresh mozzarella on top of each ramekin.

Then, cook the quiche for an additional 5-8 minutes, or until done at 330 degrees F or 166 degrees C. (May need to cut into 1 ramekin to see the interior of the eggs). (If you are cooking in an air fryer dish, add mozzarella cheese slices then cook for an additional 10-13 minutes)

Step 5: Let it rest

After cooking, let the ramekins sit in the warm air fryer for an additional 3 or so minutes.

Then, remove the ramekins and let the ramekins sit at room temperature for several minutes before enjoying them.
