It is so fun coming up with delicious easy and filling meals that you can make in the air fryer. It is even better when you can make a healthy meal that is simple, yet delicious and not outrageously expensive.
Since you build the sweet potato hash in the bowls you can make each bowl to everyone’s preference, or even make a little bar of toppings and let everyone build their own.

Simple Ingredients Needed for Sweet Potato Hash:
Ingredients:
- Sweet potatoes
- Black beans
- Avocado
Supplies:
- Air fryer
- Nonstick cooking spray
- Spatula
- Serving bowls
In this recipe, I use my Cosori 5.8QT air fryer and it helps to keep everything evenly baked. If you do not have this model you might want to make sure to pull the potatoes out halfway and give them a good shake to bake them all evenly.
The Toppings are Endless
There are so many different toppings you can choose to build your sweet potato hash the way you like. This really is one thing I love about this recipe since then everyone will like it and doesn’t have to pick out ingredients they don’t like.

- Ranch dressing
- Poppyseed dressing
Do You Need to Season the Sweet Potatoes Before Air Frying?
It is not necessary to season the potatoes before you air fry them, but if you want to go right on ahead! You can always add a little salt and pepper, or even sprinkle on some BBQ seasoning (recipe below) and it will take the roasted sweet potatoes to the next level.
Can You Use Precut or Frozen Sweet Potatoes?
You are definitely more than welcome to use either precut fresh sweet potatoes or frozen sweet potatoes for this recipe. Choose what works for you!
However, just keep in mind that you will have to increase the cooking time for the frozen sweet potatoes.
How to Make Sweet Potato Hash in the Air Fryer:
Step 1: Prepare the Sweet Potatoes
When you are ready to cook this hash recipe, start by cutting the sweet potato up into bite-sized pieces.
Then spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray and then fill the basket with the sweet potatoes.
Spray the tops of the sweet potatoes with more of the nonstick spray and then stir it all together. Give one last spray of oil to make sure all the sweet potatoes are covered. If you choose to use the BBQ seasoning sprinkle it on now to your liking and stir it all together.
Step 2: Cook the Sweet Potatoes
Place the basket in the air fryer and set the timer for 12-15 minutes at 350For 175C and cook the sweet potatoes until they are crispy and tender to your liking.
Step 3: Prepare Your Toppings
While the air fryer is roasting the sweet potatoes, drain and wash the black beans. Then dice up the avocado along with any of the other toppings you want for your hash.
Step 4: Build Your Sweet Potato Hash Bowl
After the sweet potatoes are done cooking, divide them among the 4 bowls and then top them off with black beans and avocado, and any other toppings.
Then just serve with your favorite dressing, mix it up and enjoy!
