What kind of meat to use for this hash recipe?
When making this recipe you will want to use a piece of meat that is wonderfully spiraled with those pockets of fat.
This will allow you to get a nice tender piece of meat, instead of super chewy. We love using flank steak with this recipe.
However, you could try using skirt steak or flat iron steak as well.
Make your own seasoned salt
If you don’t have any seasoned salt on hand, you can always make your own with pantry ingredients that you probably already have in the house.
Take a look at the homemade seasoned salt recipe from All Recipes to see if you have what you need.
How to Make Steak Hash in the Air Fryer:
Step 1: Begin cooking the potatoes
When you are ready to get dinner started, start by washing the potatoes and chopping up the baby potatoes into bite-sized pieces if needed.
Then, place the chopped potatoes in the air fryer basket, and spray the potatoes with some oil.
Once that is set, place the basket in the air fryer and cook the potatoes for 10 minutes at 380 degrees F or 193 degrees C.
Step 2: Prepare the peppers, onions, and steak
While the potatoes are cooking, slice the bell peppers and onions. Toss with about ½ tbsp oil and paprika and garlic salt.
Then, carefully slice the flank steak into bite-sized pieces and season it generously with the seasoned salt.
Step 3: Cook the hash
Once the timer for the potatoes is done, add the seasoned sliced steak, sliced bell peppers, and onions to the basket with the potatoes and return the basket to the air fryer.
Cook everything at 400 degrees F or 200 degrees C for at least 6 minutes or until the vegetables are tender and the steak is cooked to your liking.
Carefully remove the basket and serve the hash topped with fresh cilantro.
