Easy Air Fryer Kielbasa and Veggies Dinner
Easy Kielbasa and Veggies in the Air Fryer
If you need a fast, flavorful dinner that does not require standing over the stove, this air fryer kielbasa and veggies recipe is such a good one to keep in your back pocket. It is smoky, colorful, filling, and easy enough for a busy weeknight.
The air fryer gives the kielbasa those delicious browned edges while the vegetables turn tender and flavorful. I love this meal because it tastes like something you spent more time on, but it comes together quickly with simple ingredients and very little cleanup.
This recipe has also become a reader favorite with a 4.85/5 star rating. One reader said she accidentally added the tomatoes at the beginning, and they turned “sweet and caramelly.” Another reader added mushrooms and called the recipe “absolutely delicious.” I love when a simple dinner becomes one of those recipes people put into their regular rotation.
Quick Answer: Yes, you can cook kielbasa and vegetables together in the air fryer. Slice the kielbasa into 1/2-inch pieces, cut the vegetables into similar-sized pieces, toss with oil and seasoning, then air fry at 380°F for about 12–14 minutes, stirring halfway through.
Why You’ll Love This Air Fryer Kielbasa and Veggies Dinner
This air fryer dinner is simple, but it has so much flavor. Turkey kielbasa adds that smoky, savory bite, while asparagus, bell pepper, and tomatoes add freshness and color. The seasoning blend is easy too: paprika, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
It is also a great recipe when you want dinner to feel hearty without being heavy. The air fryer helps the kielbasa brown and the vegetables cook quickly, so you get that roasted flavor without turning on the oven.
This is especially nice in the summer when you want a real dinner but do not want to heat up the whole kitchen. It also works well as a low-carb dinner as written, or you can bulk it up with potatoes, rice, or pasta if your family wants something more filling.
Ingredients for Air Fryer Kielbasa and Vegetables
You only need a handful of simple ingredients for this air fryer kielbasa dinner:
- 14 ounces turkey kielbasa, cut on the diagonal into 1/2-inch-thick slices
- 1/2 to 1 pound asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 4 ounces grape tomatoes, halved
- 1 orange bell pepper, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1/2 tablespoon avocado oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 3/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Turkey kielbasa works really well here because it has plenty of flavor but is usually lighter than traditional smoked sausage. You can also use regular kielbasa or smoked sausage if that is what your family prefers.
Best Vegetables to Use with Kielbasa in the Air Fryer
Asparagus, bell peppers, and tomatoes are a great combination because they cook quickly and pair well with smoky sausage. If you want to change things up, mushrooms are a reader-approved addition. Kathy shared that she used half the sausage and added mushrooms, and the recipe was still absolutely delicious.
You can also try zucchini, onions, broccoli florets, green beans, or yellow squash. The key is to cut everything into similar sizes so the vegetables cook evenly. Firmer vegetables, like potatoes or carrots, usually need a head start or smaller pieces.
How to Make Air Fryer Kielbasa and Veggies
Start by slicing the kielbasa into 1/2-inch pieces. I like cutting it on the diagonal because it gives more surface area for browning. Then trim the asparagus, cut the bell pepper into pieces, and halve the grape tomatoes.
Add the asparagus, bell pepper, and kielbasa to a large bowl. Drizzle with avocado oil and toss to coat. In a small bowl, stir together the salt, Italian seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the kielbasa and veggies, then toss again until everything is evenly coated.
How Long to Cook Kielbasa in the Air Fryer
Pour the kielbasa and vegetable mixture into the air fryer basket. You do not need to spray the basket because the ingredients are already lightly coated with oil.
Air fry at 380°F for 12 minutes, stirring halfway through. Add the tomatoes and cook for about 2 more minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the kielbasa has browned edges.
If you prefer softer, sweeter tomatoes, you can add them at the beginning. Allison shared that she accidentally did this, and the tomatoes became sweet and caramelized. So if that sounds good to you, go for it.
Can You Add Potatoes to Air Fryer Kielbasa and Veggies?
Yes, small creamer potatoes can work in this recipe, but they will likely need a little more time than the kielbasa and quick-cooking vegetables. Jeff asked about adding small potatoes because he used to love making kielbasa and potatoes on the stove, and this is a great way to adapt that idea for the air fryer.
For best results, cut small creamer potatoes in half or quarters, depending on their size. You can also start the potatoes in the air fryer for 6–8 minutes before adding the kielbasa and softer vegetables. Another option is to cook everything together, then remove the kielbasa and veggies when they are done and return the potatoes to the air fryer for a few extra minutes.
If you add potatoes, onions, garlic, mushrooms, paprika, and a pinch of red pepper flakes would be delicious with this recipe.
Recipe Tips for the Best Air Fryer Kielbasa and Vegetables
- Do not overcrowd the basket. The kielbasa and veggies need space for the hot air to circulate.
- Cut vegetables evenly. Similar-sized pieces cook more evenly.
- Stir halfway through. This helps everything brown and cook evenly.
- Add delicate veggies later. Tomatoes can go in near the end unless you want them softer and sweeter.
- Use your favorite kielbasa. Turkey kielbasa keeps it lighter, but smoked sausage or beef kielbasa also work.
What to Serve with Kielbasa and Veggies
This air fryer kielbasa and veggies dinner can stand on its own, especially if you want a lower-carb meal. If you want to stretch it further, serve it over rice, cauliflower rice, buttered noodles, mashed potatoes, or roasted potatoes.
You can also add a simple side salad or fresh fruit to keep dinner easy. If you are feeding hungry teenagers or want leftovers for lunch, potatoes or rice are the easiest way to make the meal go further.
How to Store and Reheat Leftovers
Store leftover kielbasa and veggies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for a few minutes, just until warmed through. You can also reheat it in the microwave, but the air fryer brings back more of the browned texture.
This recipe makes a great next-day lunch. If you plan to meal prep it, keep in mind that softer vegetables, especially tomatoes, will release more moisture as they sit.
Air Fryer Kielbasa and Veggies FAQ
Can you put kielbasa in the air fryer?

How long do you cook kielbasa in the air fryer?
For this recipe, cook sliced kielbasa with vegetables at 380°F for about 12–14 minutes, stirring halfway through. Thicker slices may need a little more time.
Can I use smoked sausage instead of kielbasa?
Yes. Smoked sausage, beef kielbasa, pork kielbasa, chicken sausage, or turkey kielbasa can all work. Just choose a flavor your family likes.
What vegetables go best with kielbasa?
Asparagus, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, green beans, broccoli, and potatoes all pair well with kielbasa. Quick-cooking vegetables can go in with the sausage, while potatoes may need extra time.
Can I make this low carb?
Yes. As written, this recipe is a great lower-carb dinner option. Stick with non-starchy vegetables like asparagus, peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, onions, and green beans.

Absolutely delicious! I used 1/2 the sausage and added mushrooms. This recipe is a keeper!
Thank you!
Delicious! I will have to give those adaptations a try myself! Thanks, Kathy!
I made this and accidentally put the tomatoes in at the beginning with everything else. Which actually was a good idea. They became all sweet and caramelly. This dish was so absolutely amazing! It is a keeper and will be on my frequent rotation list. Thank you for this recipe!!
Yay! So glad you loved it, Allison! Thanks for your comment and review!
Do you think small creamer potatoes would work in this? I used to love making kielbasa & potatoes when I could stand at the stove. I found some IP recipient, but didn’t like the texture.
In case you’re interested, my recipe was some yellow potatoes cooked until almost done, & I would fry the kielbasa slices along with plenty of onions & garlic (& thre2 in some baby Bella mushrooms if I had them) I used about a teaspoon of paprika, salt, pepper, & a pinch of red pepper flakes. I once scaled it up & made it in 2 pots for 8 people
HI Jeff — my that sounds absolutely delicious. Anyone would be lucky to get an invite to your place! I do think those potatoes would work. Just check them for the level of “done” you want them — they may take a few minutes longer than the rest, so be prepared to take everything out and return the potatoes for extra time. or start with them cut in half. Sounds goood! let us know the results?
