10 Must-Do Family Activities For Fall!
The season for swimming and going to the beach is over, depending on where you live of course. Luckily, fall is in the air! Fortunately there are tons of fun family-friendly activities to do in the fall. We made a list of some of our favorite activities to do in fall. Also check out 8 Fun Family Halloween Activities!
Visit A Pumpkin Patch
Pumpkin patches will have a big variety of pumpkins – and usually at a cheaper price. Find a pumpkin patch in your area and take your family to get pumpkins for Halloween and fall décor. Let your kids pick out their own pumpkins and this activity will be a hit. It’s also a fun way to show how plants can grow all sorts of cool things for us. Don’t forget to buy your pumpkin carving tools!
Plant Spring Bulbs
Beautify your outdoor space by planting some bulbs that need to be planted in the fall and then enjoy them when the weather starts to warm again in the spring. Tulips, Daffodils, and Crocus are just a few of the many spring bulbs you can plant now.
Take A Drive To Look At Fall Leaves
In most areas of the country, cooler weather means beautiful fall leaves in an array of colors. Take a day drive to enjoy the fall scenery close to your home. Take it up a notch by packing a picnic lunch if the weather is nice. It’s a great way to unplug and spend some quality time together!
Bake Some Delicious Goodies
I don’t know about you, but fall always puts me in the mood to do some baking. Between apples, pumpkins, and sweet potatoes, you have plenty of good produce in season. Maybe it’s the thought of the warm air fryer, or the yummy smells. Either way, fall is a great time to gather in the kitchen and get some cooking done. Check out our 35 Fall Recipes for the Air Fryer to get some ideas.
Apple Picking
Google “Apple Orchards Near Me” to check if there are any apple orchards in your area. Apples are easy for anyone to pick, so this is a great activity for families of all ages. Make sure to pick enough to make some delicious Apple Cinnamon Rolls. Check out more apple recipes HERE.
Take Your Christmas Card Photo
It may seem a little early, but now is the time to schedule your photographer. We know that there are shortages in virtually every industry, so you won’t want to wait to order your Christmas Cards. Give yourself a break this year and get them checked off your list early.
Find Your Way Through A Corn Maze
What’s more fall than a corn maze? Let your kids run out all their energy while exploring one of these fun outdoor play areas! Most corn mazes also have other activities to do as well.
Warm Your Tummy With Homemade Soup
Nothing says comfort food like hearty soup in the fall. Make your old favorites or try out a new recipe like this Autumn Squash Soup! Some of our favorites are this Zupas Wisconsin Cauliflower Copycat Soup, Instant Pot Chicken Gnocchi Soup, and Crockpot Beef Enchilada Soup. Check out more soup recipes.
Go For A Hayride
Going on a hayride is another fun outdoor fall activity. If it is a little chilly where you live, don’t forget to grab some warm blankets, snuggle up, and make some memories!
Watch A Football Game
For some people, the most important thing about fall is football! There’s just something about feeling the energy in a football stadium during a game. If you are not able to attend a game in person, watching one on TV can be just as energetic. Whether it’s professional, college, or optimist football, you are sure to have a good time catching a game this season.
