Summer is wrapping up and now is the time to use your air fryer to cook fresh fruit. You will love how quick and easy this air fryer recipe is.

First, I want to give a big thank you to my viewer Sandi who shared this recipe with me. You can watch me make other viewer submitted air fryer recipes in this YouTube Video. This fruit in the air fryer recipe was one of my personal favorites!

Air Fried Fresh Fruit

This air fryer recipe is tasty and so fresh! You can use just about any fresh fruit besides melons. You will want about 1 cup of each. Of course, feel free to adapt the amount to your taste. To keep the proportions right with the glaze, you will want to have about 3 cups total of fruit. I’ve made this recipe with:

  • Fresh pineapples
  • Mangoes
  • Apples
  • Pears
  • Nectarines

You can also use apricots, peaches, plums, bananas, or berries.

Don’t forget to make this delicious orange brown sugar glaze

Of course, you can simply fry the fruit in the air fryer. But if you want to up level your experience with making fresh fruit in the air fryer, then you have to try this glaze. It is incredibly easy and enhances the taste of the fruit.

For the glaze, you will need:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Mix the ingredients together until well combined, then add it to fruit. Let the glaze thoroughly cover the fruit. You can even let it marinate for several minutes to really bring out its tasty flavors.

How to Cook Fruit in the Air Fryer

Once your fruit and glaze is marinating, preheat the air fryer to 390°F/198°C for 5 minutes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil. Add the fruit, then cook for 4 minutes.

After 4 minutes, check on your fruit. If you would like to be cooked longer, add a little bit of oil to help it brown (this is optional), and cook for an additional 4 minutes. You can adjust the cooking time to be shorter or longer depending on how done you want your fruit to be.

The Best Way to Make Fresh Fruit

Carefully remove the fruit from the air fryer and top with coconut or chopped nuts if desired.

This fruit serves perfectly as a quick and tasty afternoon snack. Or you can enjoy it as a dinner side with dishes like pulled pork, hamburgers, pork chops, or grilled chicken. It would also make a unique side dish for a potluck or holiday meal, rather than standard raw fruit.

This recipe is so good that you could eat it for dessert, just top it with some whipped cream! The options are endless!

Final Thoughts

Air fryer fruit is fresh, delicious, and so simple! We gobbled this one right up in our home. So often air fryer recipes are pretty heavy, but I loved this recipe because it was light and so tasty. You will love the bursts of fresh and tropical flavors.
