Creamy Slow Cooker Honey Mustard Chicken
Easy & Creamy Slow Cooker Honey Mustard Chicken
I love a good slow cooker chicken recipe! This honey mustard chicken slow cooker meal is creamy and sweet, and it only takes about 10-minutes of prep time!
Another great thing about this recipe is that it’s freezer meal friendly! You can cook up a few batches at a time and pop ’em in the freezer for later.
The Mustard Matters:
The brand and type of Dijon mustard you use will make a bit of a difference in this recipe, in color and flavor. I’ve used a few different kinds and it just depends on your preference.
I prefer a sweeter chicken, so I either use a Honey Dijon with about 2/3 cup honey or use regular Dijon and increase the honey amount a bit. I once used Honey Dijon and 3/4 cup honey and while it was still quite good, it was almost too sweet for me.
Either way though, I love that the mustard does not overpower the other flavors. It is more of a sweet chicken than a mustard one. Feel free to experiment with your mustards to get the perfect flavor!
Slow Cooker Tips:
The 3-4 hours on high has been a great way to go for me, so I haven’t tried cooking this chicken on low for 6-8 hours yet. I think cooking on low would work fine, but I’m not sure how well the rosemary sprig would hold up for that long. If you try cooking it on low, let me know how it goes!
In case you’re wondering, I almost always use a slow cooker liner nowadays. It makes the clean-up so much easier!
Enjoy Your Creamy Crockpot Honey Mustard Chicken
If you’re looking for some side dish ideas to go along with this recipe, I highly recommend serving it with some potatoes (here’s a good recipe). You could also serve it with some rice, which is nice and simple.
All in all, this is a delicious and easy chicken recipe! I hope you try it out and love it too!
Note: If you use frozen chicken to make a raw freezer meal, just keep the chicken frozen. Thawing then re-freezing before cooking will dry out the meat.
