Quick and Easy Chicken Parmesan Freezer Meal
Make Ahead Chicken Parmesan
This quick and easy chicken parmesan freezer meal recipe is a family favorite. It is super easy to make and is perfect to pull out of the freezer on a busy night and pop it in the oven to bake! Also, it’s a great meal to take to other families.
How to Make Your Chicken Parmesan Freezer Meal
- Start with just taking your boneless skinless chicken breasts and trim off any fat.
- Next, mix the bread crumbs and parmesan cheese together.
- In a separate bowl, melt some butter.
- Then just dredge the chicken breasts through the butter and then roll in the bread crumb mixture.
- Spread the tomatoes or sauce along the bottom of a foil 9×13 pan, then place the chicken breasts on top and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese! Cover with plastic wrap, foil, and freeze.
I prefer pasta sauce instead of stewed tomatoes, so I use about half of a 24-ounce jar of pasta sauce in the bottom of the pan, then save the rest for later to serve on the pasta with the Chicken Parmesan.
Chicken Parmesan Cooking Instructions
To cook, just preheat the oven to 350 degrees, cover the pan with foil, and pop it in the oven for 40 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. If you are cooking straight from frozen, then extend the cooking time to 60 minutes, or until done.
Chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees F. Cooking time may vary depending on the size of chicken breast.
Serve over a bed of cooked spaghetti noodles and use extra sauce to cover noodles. This is a great dish on a busy night paired with a Caesar salad and breadsticks.

- 1 to 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions

PREPARING FOR THE FREEZER:
- Cover uncooked pan of chicken with plastic wrap, then foil, and freeze.
PREPARE AFTER FREEZING:
- Let pan of chicken thaw for 24 hours in the refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 350°F/175°C. Remove plastic wrap and cover thawed pan of chicken with foil. Cook covered for about 40 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and reaches 160°F/71.1°C internally. Uncover for last 5-10 minutes of cooking time, if desired.
- To cook from frozen, follow same cooking directions, but extend cooking time to about 60-65 minutes.

I fixed this without any egg…just melted butter, then dredge in bread crumb mixture. Froze immediately, no pre cooking, then followed instructions for baking when ready. Cooked up beautifully and was very tasty!
I am really excited to try this recipe.
But I do feel like I should point out some mistakes on the page:
“…if perfect to pull out of the oven on a busy night and pop it in the oven to bake!”
Shouldn’t this be “…IS perfect to pull out of the FREEZER on a busy night and pop it in the oven to bake!”?
Sorry but the grammar got to me so I had to share the mistakes!

How long can something like this be stored in the freezer? Thank you!
Hi Keesha! It depends on your freezer and the quality of freezer bags you’re using, but I’d say generally 3 months.
So I already made some breaded chicken, fried them, and froze them. I’m going to mess around and find out because I just froze them all by themselves. No sauce and no cheese. I’m scared…
Mmmm mmmm good!
