Sandwiches are so simple to make in the air fryer, and they come out so crispy. I wanted to share with you how to spin the classic BLT by making a bacon, avocado, and tomato grilled cheese sandwich in the air fryer.
Ingredients and supplies needed to make an Avocado, Bacon, Tomato, and Cheese Sandwich in the Air Fryer
Ingredients:
- Slices whole wheat bread
- Ranch salad dressing
- Favorite kind of cheese (well love to use swiss cheese, provolone, or pepper jack for this!)
- Tomato
- Avocados
- Slices bacon cooked
- Butter for bread (or mayo as a tasty alternative)
Supplies:
- Air fryer
- Tong or spatula

I am certain that this recipe will taste amazing with other ingredients. Try substituting the bacon with sausage strips, or turkey bacon, or no bacon at all if you are looking for a vegan option.
You can add any tasty veggies to this recipe. I imagine that this would taste splendid with some caramelized onions and or bell peppers (you can also make this in the air fryer).
If you don’t have ripe avocados on hand, you might enjoy some guacamole or a creamy avocado spread.
You can use any cheese that you love; provolone, swiss cheese, cheddar jack or cheddar cheese are all great options. Not a fan of melty cheese? Don’t use it!

Here are 7 easy steps for making this air fried sandwich.
Step 1: Cook the bacon

- Place the bacon in the air fryer, it is okay if it is touching or overlapping.
- Cook the bacon in air fryer at 380˚F/190˚C for 8 minutes or until it reaches the desired crispiness. Set aside the bacon once it done cooking. Clean out the air fryer as well before you start cooking your sandwich. If you are a fan of reusing bacon grease, you can use it to butter the bread later instead of regular butter.

Step 2: Prepare the bread

So, take two slices of bread and lay it down. You will be making the base for both of the sandwiches and will finish it by placing the other slices of bread on top.
This recipe tastes so delicious with ranch dressing. Next, spread ranch dressing on both slices of the bread.
Step 3: Add the Cheese
Place a slice of cheese on each bread slice.
Step 4: Add the tomato
Slice the tomato. Then, place one slice of tomato for each sandwich.
Step 5: Add the avocado.
Cut and slice the avocado into thin slices. Then, place a couple of slices of avocado for each sandwich.
Step 6: Add the bacon
Place a couple of pieces of bacon on each of the sandwiches.
Step 7: Cover and cook
Once you have all the ingredients you want on your sandwich, cover the bread to make a closed sandwich. Then, spread some butter on the outside of the sandwich. After this, place the sandwich buttered side down in the air fryer basket, spread some more butter on the unbuttered side.
Air fry the sandwiches at 400 degrees F or 204 degrees C for 4 minutes. Then, flip the sandwich over with a silicone tong or spatula and air fryer for another 2-3 mins, or until golden brown.
Serve and Enjoy
Once the sandwiches are a nice golden brown and cooked to your liking, remove the sandwiches from the air and enjoy. You will love how creamy and delicious this recipe is.
