Do I need to use the skewers?
Honestly, no you definitely don’t need to use metal or wooden skewers for this recipe. You can always skip the step of making up the kabobs and put it all right in the air fryer basket and cook it just the same way for all of the ingredients.
How to Hawaiian Pineapple & Ham Shish Kabobs:
Step 1: Cut all of the ingredients
Prepare all the ingredients. Make sure that the pineapple and ham chunks are all in bite-sized pieces.
Step 2: Put on skewers
Once you have all the ham and pineapple chopped to your desired sizes, place the pieces on the metal skewer and then bast the ingredients generously with the barbecue sauce.
If you want to skip the skewers, place the chopped ham and pineapple in a large mixing bowl and then pour the barbecue sauce in and mix it all together.
Step 3: Cook the skewers
After the barbecue sauce has been applied to the ham and pineapple, place the skewers in the air fryer, making sure to leave some room between each to ensure everything cooks evenly.
Or spread the saucy pineapple and ham chunks in the bottom of the air fryer basket if you want to skip the skewers.
Then turn the air fryer on to 400 degrees F or 200 degrees C and cook the Hawaiian kabob ingredients for 7-10 minutes or until they are cooked to your liking.
