Fresh or Frozen salmon fillets?
For making this recipe I definitely recommend using fresh salmon. Not only does it speed up the cooking process, but the fresh fillets also is able to absorb the marinade better. Thus giving you a better tasting piece of salmon.
Could I use something other than salmon?
Most definitely! This would taste so delicious on chicken or even pork. Just make sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly to make sure the meats come up to the correct internal temperatures.
How to Make Everything But the Bagel Salmon:
Step 1: Line the air fryer basket
Make a foil sling for the air fryer basket, about 4 inches tall and a few inches longer than the width of the basket.
Lay foil widthwise across basket, pressing it into and up the sides. Lightly spray foil and basket with cooking spray.
Step 2: Season the salmon
Pat the salmon dry with paper towels on both sides. Then, season the fillets with salt and pepper to your taste.
In a small bowl, mix together the honey, Dijon mustard, and the Everything But the Bagel Seasoning, until it is well combined.
Now, drizzle the glaze evenly over salmon fillets, making sure to get both the tops and sides of the salmon.
If you have any remaining glaze, use it to drizzle on top once the salmon is done cooking.
Step 3: Cook the salmon
Once you have the salmon seasoned, arrange fillets skin side down on sling in the air fryer basket, making sure to put space between them.
(The number of fillets you can fit in your air fryer at one time depends on the size of the fillets and the size of your air fryer.)
When you have the air fryer basket ready, cook the salmon at 350°F or 175°C for 8-10 minutes, until salmon flakes easily and registers at 145˚F or 62.8˚C (thinner salmon will be ready sooner, thicker salmon will take more time).
Step 4: Serve the Salmon
Using the foil sling, carefully lift salmon from air fryer. Loosen the skin with a fish spatula or utensil, then transfer fillets to plate, leaving skin behind.
Drizzle reserved sauce over fillets. Garnish with fresh parsley, if you desire, and then serve the salmon warm.
