Ingredients and Supplies You’ll Need to Make Bacon Wrapped Cocktail Sausages:
Ingredients:
- Lil’ smokies cocktail sausages
- Bacon
- Brown sugar
- Chili sauce
- Mayo
Supplies:
- Toothpicks
- Knife
- Small bowl
- Pastry brush
- Air fryer (Cosori Pro II)
Want them saucier and less crispy?
For this recipe, we tend to use the sauce to brush on the cocktail appetizer and then place the bacon wrapped sausages into the air fryer.
However, if you want them to be extra saucy, place the sausages wrapped in bacon into an air fryer safe dish, and then pour the sauce into the dish, making sure to cover the sausages.
If you can’t fit all of the cocktail sausages in the pan, work in batches, making sure to save some of the sauce for the next batch.
Do I need to use cocktail sausages?
When you are making this recipe it is suggested to use the actual cocktail sausages since they are already portioned and can be easily wrapped in the bacon.
How to Make Bacon Wrapped Cocktail Sausages:
Step 1: Slice the bacon
Remove the bacon from the package and use a sharp knife to slice the bacon into thirds while it is in the package.
Step 2: Wrap the sausages
Once the bacon is cut, take one piece of the bacon, along with the sausage, and wrap it.
Use a toothpick to secure the bacon and then place it on a plate or cutting board and continue until you run out of bacon.
Step 3: Season the Sausages
When you are done wrapping the bacon, mix up brown sugar, mayo, and chili sauce in a bowl until it is well combined.
Once that is done, take a pastry brush and brush each of the bacon wrapped sausages with the chili mayo sauce.
After you put sauce on the bacon, place the appetizer into the air fryer basket, making sure to leave some room, you’ll probably have to work in 2-3 batches.
Step 4: Cook the Sausages
Then return the basket to the air fryer and turn it on to 400 degrees F or 200 degrees C for 10 minutes, flipping the sausages halfway through.
You’ll know they are done when the bacon is cooked through and slightly crispy. Then serve and enjoy!
