Will the Air Fryer Over Cook the Salmon?
No, there is definitely no need to worry about overcooking the salmon. It might just help you make it a little faster! To make sure that the salmon is not overcooked, be sure to check the temperature of the fish towards the end of cook time with an Instant read thermometer.
Can I Use a Different Sauce?
If you do not have everything you need to make the Asian sauce, feel free to use what you have on hand! You most definitely can use a jarred Asian sauce as well.
Is the Asian Salmon Spicy?
The flavor of this dish is amazing. It does have that nice spicy sweet pallet of flavors that we all love. Since the homemade Asian sauce does have sriracha in it, it will have that little bit of a kick to it.
However, if you would prefer to avoid that, simply leave the sriracha out of the sauce or even add a little less.
How to Make Asian Salmon in the Air Fryer:
Step 1: Make the Asian Sauce
In a small bowl, combine together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, sriracha, and black pepper.
Whisk it together until it is all well combined to create the sauce for the salmon.
Step 2: Create the Foil Packet
Once you have the sauce made, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Then place the salmon onto the aluminum foil in the center.
As best you can, fold all four sides of the aluminum foil up to create a bowl or a container around the salmon.
Step 3: Season the Salmon
After you have the aluminum foil dish created, pour or spoon the Asian sauce over the salmon, doing your best to ensure it is all covered.
Then fold the sides in on top of the salmon doing your best to seal the sides together to create a foil pocket for the salmon.
Step 4: Cook the Salmon in the Air Fryer
When the salmon is done being prepared, place the foil packet into the bottom of the air fryer and cook it at 350F or 175C for 6-8 minutes, or until the thickest part of the salmon almost reaches 145F or 62.8C.
Step 5: Caramelize the Salmon
Now, once the salmon is close to the internal temperature of 145F or 62.8C, carefully open up the foil packet and place the air fryer basket back into the air fryer.
Turn the air fryer back on to 350F or 175C for another 2-3 minutes or until the top is nice and caramelized or until the internal temperature is 145F or 62.6C or flakes easily.
Step 6: Garnish the Salmon
After the salmon is done cooking, carefully remove it from the air fryer and place it on a serving dish and top it with the sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
