Quick and Easy Air Fryer Potato Chip Chicken

Need a fast meal that is not only healthy, but also delicious and flavorful? I got you! Today, I am excited to share how to make potato chip chicken in the air fryer! You are going to love this recipe because you can choose your favorite flavors and spices. This means that it is a favorite recipe for everyone!

What You Need to Make Air Fryer Potato Chip Chicken

This recipe is super adaptable, but for the basics you will need:

  • 1 pound of Chicken cutlets or tenders
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup crushed potato chips
  • 1 tablespoon of seasoning (you can choose any seasoning of your choice!)

Important Ingredient Notes

It’s important that you choose chicken that is thin, such as chicken tenders or cutlets. This way, your chicken will cook faster. If your chicken is thick and uneven, the cooking will take longer. You can use a meat pounder to beat down the chicken to make it even.

You can choose any potato chips that you want.  When I made this, I used plain reduced fat kettle chips and added my own seasonings- seasoned salt,  pepper, and  parsley, to taste- on top of the chicken. Kettle chips make a thicker, crunchier coating than thin chip varieties. Feel free to experiment with your favorite chip flavors!

If you are making this for kids, you can let each child choose their favorite chip flavor for the top. Not only will everyone get to personalize their own meal, but it would be super fun for everyone too!

How to Make Fried Potato Chip Chicken in the Air Fryer

First, spray the air fryer with non-stick cooking spray. Second, beat the eggs in a shallow bowl.

Then, crush the chips with seasoning in a Ziploc bag. Next, dip the chicken in the egg and coat it in the chips.

Lay the chicken in the air fryer basket and cook at 380°F/193°C for 14 minutes. Flip once at the halfway point. Continue cooking until the coating is crispy and the chicken is cooked through. The chicken needs to reach the internal temperature of 165°F/74°C.
