I know that we don’t all have large and luxurious kitchens, so space is limited, that I why I love finding new ways to make my air fryer multipurpose, just like with this air fryer frozen waffles recipe.

I have to pick and choose which kitchen tools I keep on the counter, and in the cupboards, and what doesn’t make the cut makes its way to the pantry. Since I don’t use my toaster nearly as much, I thought the air fryer would be a great option for making delicious waffles and I was right!

The air fryer is such a great way to make breakfast fast and delicious, give it a try!

Ingredients and Supplies You’ll Need to Make Air Fryer Frozen Waffles:

Ingredients:

  • Frozen waffles

Supplies:

  • Flipping spatula
  • Air fryer (the Cosori Pro II is what takes up residence in my kitchen)

Should the Waffles be Thawed Ahead of Time?

No, it is definitely not necessary to thaw the waffles before you pop them into the air fryer.

What Can Cause Soggy Waffles?

Generally, if the waffles were not stored well in the freezer they can get freezer burn or an accumulation of ice crystals on the waffles.

If that is the case, do your best to brush them off so they do not sit on the waffles while they are baking otherwise the ice crystals, essentially water, will soak into the waffles causing soggy waffles when you want crispy ones.

Toppings to Use for Frozen Waffles

Waffles are such a simple breakfast option, especially when you are trying to rush yourself, and everyone else out the door before school and work. But, you can change them up simply by how you top them!

Here are some options to try:

  • Butter (keep it simple – but I love the taste of the olive oil and sea salt butter)
  • Peanut butter (it melts in and tastes fantastic)
  • Maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Cream cheese
  • Make them into a sandwich with a fried egg and sausage patty (OMG so good!)

How to Make Air Fryer Frozen Waffles:

Step 1: Put the Waffles in the Air Fryer

When you are ready to get started, place the waffles in the air fryer in a single layer, ensuring they aren’t overlapping.

I can normally get 3-4 waffles in the bottom of my air fryer.

Step 2: Cook the Waffles

After you have the waffles placed in the air fryer, return the basket to the air fryer and turn it on to 360F or 180C for about 4 minutes. When the time is up, open up the air fryer and flip the waffles over.

Then continue to cook the waffles at 360F or 180C for another 1-3 minutes depending on how done you like your waffles.

Step 3: Remove and Top the Waffles

Now, carefully remove the hot waffles and place them on your plate, and top them with any and all of your favorite toppings. Then simply enjoy!

Easy Breakfast Options

Since we’re on the topic of breakfast, you can make even more delicious breakfast options in the air fryer in no time. Take a look and give them a try!
