Do a little prep in the morning, then just let the carrots slow cook! Once they are nice and tender, drain the liquid, then stir in a glaze. You can use any type of glaze you want, the variations are endless! Serve right away or leave the finished carrots in the Crock-Pot on warm for an hour or two until dinner is served, if needed.
A four-quart slow cooker is just the right size for this recipe. Three pounds of carrots will serve about eight to ten people. Perfect side dish for large family meals and holidays!
Cook the peeled and sliced carrots in a simple liquid of water, sugar, and salt. The carrots retain their flavor and subtle sweetness with this method. Great way to get nicely cooked carrots in the slow cooker every time! The glaze ingredients can be adapted to your preference, but it is a nice touch to stir in a fresh, minced herb before serving.
This simple honey glaze is a great option for cooked carrots. Tender carrots with a touch of honey and fresh parsley!
