I am so excited to share with you and simple air fryer recipe that will really step up and change the way you make chicken in the air fryer. Today’s air fryer recipes is Ritz cracker chicken tenders. This recipe can be prepared and made in 30 minutes, and I promise it will be a favorite for everyone in the family!
Simple Ritz Cracker Chicken Ingredients
I love this recipe because you don’t need a lot to make this tasty and crunchy chicken. The best part is that you can substitute the herbs and spices I suggest in this recipe with your own personal favorites. For this recipe, you need:
- 3 pounds chicken
- 2 sleeves of Ritz crackers
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon Creole seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon rosemary
- 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 cups parmesan cheese
How to Make Homemade Creole Seasoning
I personally love the Creole seasoning because it adds a real tasty kick to the chicken. If you don’t have Creole seasoning on hand, you can replace it with this homemade Creole seasoning from Daring Gourmet:
- 4 tsp garlic powder
- 4 tsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp sweet paprika powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp dried thyme
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tsp dried basil
- 2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
Combine and mix all the ingredients together. It will make about 1/2 cup of seasoning. So you will have plenty for future Ritz chicken recipes!
How to Make Air Fryer Ritz Cracker Chicken Tenders
Prepare your chicken by cutting it into smaller pieces. The smaller they are the quicker they will take to cook. Next, you will prepare your set up.
- In one shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and Worcestershire sauce.
- In the second shallow bowl, place the parmesan cheese.
- In the third, combine the crushed crackers with the seasonings and herbs.
Then, take you chicken through each of the bowls, making sure to complete cover it in each of the ingredients. Place the chicken in a sprayed air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket.
How Long to Cook Chicken in the Air Fryer
To cook the chicken in the air fryer, set the temperature to 380°F/190°C and cook for 7-8 minutes (or until the chicken registers at 165°F/73.8°C), flipping the chicken at the halfway point. I ended up doing this in several batches, because I didn’t want to overcrowd the air fryer basket.
Remove the chicken from the air fryer basket and enjoy with a dipping sauce of your choice. I loved this with BBQ sauce and ranch.
