A quick breakfast recipe for the air fryer

Breakfast doesn’t have to be crazy for it to be delicious. Something as simple as this Eggs in a Hole breakfast is perfect!

Not only is it scrumptious, but it is also super simple to make, and with only 3 ingredients! It has honestly become my go-to breakfast recipe for both me and my children. Half the time they even fight over who gets the first batch.

If you’re worried about how to make this recipe, or how it might turn out, you can also check it out in my youtube video where we tested out using silicone liners and air fryer parchment paper.

Ingredients and Supplies You’ll Need to Make Air Fryer Eggs in a Hole:

Ingredients:

  • Sliced bread
  • Eggs
  • Butter or oil spray
  • Salt and pepper (optional)

Supplies

  • Cup or circle cutter
  • Silicone or parchment paper liner
  • Oil sprayer
  • Spatula
  • Air fryer (Cosori Pro II)

How does the egg stay?

I won’t lie to you, there will be a little bit of the egg that will probably drop to the bottom of the air fryer.Β

But, when you use either a silicone or parchment paper liner, not only does it keep the egg from sticking to the basket, but it also helps contain the egg even better.Β

Will the egg be cooked properly?Β

While that is a bit of a tricky question to answer, essentially yes it will.Β

The nice thing about the air fryer is that you can set the temperature and how long you want everything to cook.Β

Plus, you can pull open the basket to check on the doneness of the egg and toast to make sure it is cooking to your liking.

How to Make Air Fryer Eggs in a Hole:

Step 1: Prepare the bread

Begin by either spraying or buttering the slices of bread that you will be using on one side.

Then, with a circle cookie cutter or cup, cut a hole in the middle of the bread making sure it goes all the way through. Now, simply remove the middle of the bread.

Step 2: Set up the bread and eggs

When you are ready to cook, place the bread and the middles in the air fryer basket on an air fryer parchment paper sheet or air fryer parchment paper basket liner making sure that they don’t overlap.

After you have the bread set in the air fryer flat as possible, crack an egg into the hole of each piece of bread. Now you can add any seasonings like salt and pepper to your liking.

Step 3: Cook the eggs

Since the eggs are placed in the hole of the bread, air fry everything for 7 minutes at 330 degrees F or 166 degrees C, or until the egg whites and yokes are cooked to your liking.

If needed, flip the bread and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the eggs and toast are done to your liking.

Then just remove the egg in a hole and enjoy your simple breakfast recipe.Β
