Veggie Christmas tree appetizer

A fun and easy Christmas veggie platter!

Time to start thinking Christmas parties! I don’t know about you, but we have church events, family events, work events, and even parties with friends during the holiday season. There is always yummy food at these events including sugary treats and calorie-packed comfort food. There is nothing wrong with these but I like to make sure I contribute a healthy option as well.

That’s why I love this Christmas tree veggie platter because it is festive and full of yummy, healthy snack ideas! This takes about 10 minutes to put together too so that’s always a winning appetizer in my book! Check out just how easy this veggie Christmas tree is to put together.

Yellow pepper, cherry tomatoes, and broccoli for veggie tree

What you will need:

  • Fresh broccoli florets
  • Yellow bell pepper
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Pretzel sticks

There really are so many great options for a Christmas veggie platter. You could use cucumbers, red bell peppers, cauliflower, and much more. I happened to have broccoli, cherry tomatoes, and a yellow bell pepper on hand so that’s what I used.

Preparing Your Vegetables

Start by cutting up your broccoli. You will want to cut off the big stem and trim your florets so they have small stems left on them. This part is probably personal preference, because it will be fine with ling stems, I just prefer mostly floret in my bite of broccoli.

Make sure to give your tomatoes a good scrubbing to get all of the wax off and dry them. For the bell pepper, I washed, removed all the of insides, and cut in super-slim strips.

P.S. – If you want really clean (and longer-lasting) veggies, check out this DIY fruit and veggie wash spray!

Assembling the Tree

Once you have all of your veggies rinsed and cut, it’s time to assemble. I assemble my veggie Christmas tree on a long-serving platter to make it easier to transport! After you get your tree assembled, add some pretzel sticks to create a tree trunk!

Serve with ranch or a dipping sauce of your choice and you are done! Here are some of our favorite homemade dips:
