Thanksgiving Hand Pies
Thanksgiving Hand Pies are tasty like dessert hand pies, but a lot healthier! For Thanksgiving Leftovers Hand Pies, you will need:
- 1 box refrigerator pie crust
- 1/2 cup leftover mashed sweet potatoes (or mashed potatoes)
- 1 cup leftover stuffing
- 1 cup leftover turkey
- 1/2 cup leftover cranberry sauce
- 1/2 cup leftover gravy
- 1 egg
How to Make Hand Pies with Leftovers
This recipe is very simple and adaptable. Feel free to substitute the ingredients with your own favorites leftovers.
First, prepare the pie crust. Use a 6 inch cereal bowl or dough press to make 6 inch circles. Gather the scraps and re-roll the dough to get a total of 6 circles from the two pie crusts.
Next, make the filling. On each circle spread out 2 teaspoons of mashed sweet potatoes. Then top that off with 3 teaspoons of stuffing and 2 teaspoons of turkey. Finally add 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce and 1 teaspoon of gravy to each circle. Do not put more than 3 Tablespoons (9 teaspoons) of filling in each circle.
How to Form a Hand Pie
Use your fingers to run water around the edge of each pie circle. Then, fold it in half and crimp it closed tightly with a fork. Next, beat the egg in a bowl. Then, brush the egg wash on the outside of the hand pies.
How to Cook Hand Pies in the Air Fryer
Lightly spray the air fryer basket. Place the hand pies inside and cook at 375°F/190°C for 8 minutes, or until the pie crust is golden brown. Enjoy the hand pies with leftover gravy or cranberry sauce.
Important Air Frying Tip
Do not overcrowd the hand pies in the air fryer. You may need to cook the hand pies in multiple batches.
