Air Fryer Juicy Steak and Mushrooms Bites
The Best Air Fryer Steak and Mushrooms
This air fryer recipe is a favorite in our home! Cook juicy and tasty steak in the air fryer in under 12 minutes! Plus, you only need 6 ingredients for this recipe. It is so unbelievably easy and good!
How to Make Juicy Steak Bites in the Air Fryer
For this recipe, you can choose any steak cut that you want. When I made this recipe, I used a tri tip steak. But a ribeye or sirloin steak would taste just as delicious. You will need about a pound of steak. After you choose your steak, cut it into 1” cubes or bite sized pieces.
You can cut the steak bites any size you want. For bigger pieces, you will want to increase the cooking time to a couple of extra minutes. For smaller pieces, you will reduce the time. This is why an instant read thermometer is so great, because you will be able to check the internal temperature of your steak easily and adjust as needed.
Air Fryer Steak and Mushroom Bites Ingredients
In addition to the steak bites, you will need mushrooms as well! Add half of a sliced onion to complete the taste to this recipe.
Prepare the ingredients by cutting them into larger than bite-sized pieces. Then, you will combine the ingredients together in a large bowl and marinate it for at least two hours. You will need for the marinade:
- 1/2 cup worcestershire sauce (or teriyaki)
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
How to Cook Steak and Mushroom Bites in the Air Fryer
Because you are cooking steak, you will want to preheat your air fryer to 400°F/200°C for 5 minutes. Then, take your steak and mushrooms ingredients and lay it in an even layer in the air fryer basket.
Cook at 400°F/200°C for 6 minutes. If your steak is cut larger and you want it cooked well done, add about 2-3 more minutes to the cooking time.

My kids absolutely loved this recipe. I thought it was a great recipe because some of my kids don’t like onions or mushrooms, so they were able to easily take those out and I had more on my plate! Thank you – am making this tonight! Two questions:
– Often instructions are to flip the food halfway through. Just no need for this recipe?
– My steak/mushrooms/onions are marinating now, and it sure won’t all fit since we’re cooking one layer of food, because, well, air fryer. I have the larger Cosori like one of yours. So do you cook in shifts? Sometimes I think it would be easiest to get a second air fryer to double the space!
Thanks!
Hi Beth! You can stir it around midway thru cooking. On Sunday I made this hibachi style chicken https://fabulesslyfrugal.com/recipes/air-fryer-habachi-style-chicken-with-yum-yum-sauce/ and my air fryer was pretty packed (about 3/4 full) and I think I stirred twice (took me 15 min to cook) and it came out PERFECTLY! So no need to do a single layer of food… throw it in and stir occassionally to help with even cooking and you should be good! 🙂
Come back and let me know how it goes!
(oh, and yes I do have two air fryers… but don’t often pull out that 2nd one)
Outstanding flavor (Worcestershire), nice mix of steak/onions/mushrooms. I assume the juice in the bottom is safe to eat given the temperature so we had that too over rice.
I dumped everything in the basket, set it for four minutes and stirred at 2. Then I set it for another 3 minutes, if I’m not mistaken and stirred after another minute or two and then stopped cooking. Steak was 145 degrees and onions still had a little oomph.
The only issue wasn’t with the recipe. We enjoyed it a lot though the steak was tough – but that’s because it was rather thinly sliced for stir frying, and if I had cooked it for less time the onions and mushrooms wouldn’t have been as done as we liked. Next time I’d try it with larger cubes – and definitely there will be a next time.
Thanks so much for the JSI hint! *
