Not to mention when you put it all together in a pita bread pocket, it becomes an easy and delicious lunch or dinner the whole family will love.

If you want to skip the pita bread you can always do that too and turn the lamb patties into a finger food and dip them in the tzatziki sauce.

Where can you find mini pitas?

Generally, you should be able to find the mini pita bread in the grocery store near the deli section. However, if you can’t find mini pitas at the store, you can get larger pitas and cut them into fourths.

Or, you could also make this delicious 4 ingredient homemade pita recipe from The Gardening Foodie. Form them into small pitas before cooking them. They can be made on the stovetop.

Do I need to use lamb for this recipe?

To keep with the traditional gyros-style food and taste that you would be expecting, I would definitely suggest trying out the ground lamb.

But, if you are not able to find ground lamb or would prefer not to use it but still want to make gyros, you can always use another form of ground meat in its place like ground turkey, ground chicken, or ground beef.

Just keep in mind that the flavors will be slightly different when you use a different type of meat.

How to make Air Fryer Gyro Lamb Sliders:

Step 1: Make the meat mixture

Start by adding the ground lamb, rosemary, oregano, garlic, onion, salt, egg yolk, breadcrumbs, and 1 teaspoon of olive oil to a large bowl.

Then mix everything together until it is combined. Be careful to not over mix to avoid having tough patties.

Step 2: Make the patties

After you have the lamb mixture made up, form it into 15 thin patties.

Place the patties in the air fryer basket. Make sure to not overlap the patties to allow them to cook completely and properly.

Step 3: Cook the patties

Once you have the patties arranged in the air fryer cook them at 380 degrees F or 193 degrees C for 4-8 minutes, flipping at the halfway point to ensure they cook evenly.

Cook until the patties reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees F or 71 degrees C.

After they are cooked completely, remove the cooked patties and repeat until all patties are cooked.

Step 4: Make the dill Greek yogurt spread

In a small bowl, add the Greek yogurt, dill, and lemon juice, mixing it all together with a spatula until it looks to be combined.

Step 5: Prepare the Greek sliders

Cut a slit in each pita wide enough to fit patties in. Spoon a little bit of dill sauce in the pita, add a lamb patty, and layer cucumbers on top. Now, enjoy!
