Bone-in pork chops vs. Boneless pork chops
When you are making this recipe we recommend boneless pork chops.
If you prefer using bone-in pork chops they will work just fine for this pork chop recipe, however, it might increase the cooking time.
Make sure you keep an eye on the internal temperature to ensure that the meat is cooked to safe temperature.
This spice rub will provide delicious flavor, so keep it in mind if you want to use it on a pork tenderloin or roast.
Fresh or frozen mushrooms
For this recipe for the creamy mushroom sauce recipe, you can use either fresh or frozen mushrooms.
However, make sure to cook frozen mushrooms down enough in the skillet as this recipe gives instructions for fresh mushrooms. So, make sure to account for a few extra minutes.
You will also want to make sure that the mushrooms are sliced to create the best creamy sauce for this pork recipe.
Change the flavor of the sauce:
To change the flavor of this creamy sauce you can always add a little bit of parmesan cheese, dijon mustard, or even a little bit of fresh thyme.
However, I would suggest making the recipe as is, and then the next time making it to fit your liking or changing the flavor for the next time.
How to make this Creamy Mushroom Pork in the Air Fryer:
Pork chop instructions:
Step 1: Make the seasoning and prep the pork
Start by combining the paprika, and garlic powder in a small bowl. Then, pat the pork chops dry with kitchen paper.
Step 2: Season pork
First, spray the pork chops generously with oil. Then, season the pieces of pork with salt and pepper to taste on each side.
Once that is done, season generously with the homemade spice mix.
Step 3: Cook the pork
Air fry the pork chops at 380 degrees F or 193 degrees C for 5-10 minutes.
Note, that this will depend heavily on the size and thickness of your pork chops and if there is a bone-in.
After the 5-minute mark check the pork to make sure you are arriving at the safe internal temp is 145 degrees F or 67 degrees C for pork chops. Avoid overcooking the pork to keep it tender and juicy.
