How to cook juicy air fryer chicken
Cooking chicken in the air fryer is so easy! Here are a few tips to remember when you make air fryer chicken.
Tip #1: Use a meat pounder
Pound down the thicker end of each chicken breast. This helps to even out the thickness so they will cook more evenly and quickly. The Norpro Meat Pounder makes quick work of it.
Tip #2: Oil the chicken
Spritz the chicken with oil. I like to use an avocado oil spray, but any olive oil or avocado oil will work. Just a thin layer to coat is needed. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
Tip #3: Cook the chicken
Air fryer chicken breast is so easy and fast! Place the chicken in the air fryer basket and cook at 380˚F/193˚C for about 10 minutes. Flip the chicken at the halfway point. Then, brush on some of the sauce onto the chicken breasts.
Tip #4: Use an instant read thermometer
Continue cooking the chicken. Using an instant read thermometer is the best way to tell when the chicken is done. You want the center of the thickest part of the chicken breast to reach 155°F/68°C to 160°F/71°C.
Tip #5: Let the chicken rest
Let the air fryer chicken breasts rest for about 5-10 minutes to finish cooking and before slicing to maximize juiciness. The chicken will be done cooking once it reaches 165°F/74°C.
Air fryer Spicy Chicken
Once the chicken finishes cooking, serve the chicken with the remaining bit of the sauce. You can enjoy this chicken with some tasty jasmine rice, fruit, or vegetable of your choice.
