Can You Make a BLT in the Air Fryer?

I love my air fryer because it makes recipe prep easy and simply. Today’s chicken BLT burrito is no exception! This recipe is so simple and easy to prepare that it will quickly become a recipe that you will want to prepare every week!

Air Fryer Chicken BLT

For this recipe, you will need:

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken tenders
  • 8 to 10 slices bacon cooked until crisp
  • 1 to 2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped cucumbers
  • 1 to 2 avocados sliced into thin strips
  • 4 to 6 tortillas

Air Fryer Pro Tip: Make Bacon in the Air Fryer

I love to make air fryer bacon. It is so easy and clean up is a breeze. You can cook the bacon for this recipe in the fryer. Simply, place the bacon in air fryer at 380˚F/190˚C for 8 minutes or until it reaches the desired crispiness. It’s OK if bacon is touching, as it will shrink as it cooks.

Don’t forget: To prevent the bacon or air fryer from smoking, place a torn piece of bread in the pan, underneath the basket or tray to help absorb drippings and prevent smoking.

How to Cook Chicken in the Air Fryer

The best part about this sandwich in the chicken. To make the chicken in the air fryer, first season 2 pounds of thawed chicken on both sides with salt and pepper, lightly mist with avocado oil and cook it in air fryer at 380˚F/190˚C for 8-12 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer registers 165˚F/73.8˚C. Remove the chicken from the air fryer basket and let it rest for 5 or so minutes before slicing into strips.

If You Are Cooking For Less People

If you are not cooking for a crowd, you could cook the bacon and chicken at the same time in your air fryer.

Delicious and Creamy Southwest Dipping Sauce

To make the most delicious dipping sauce for your BLT, whisk together until well combined:

  • ⅔ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • Pinch of salt and pepper

How to Make a BLT

To assemble the BLT, spread a couple tablespoons or more of the dipping sauce mixture down the middle of each tortilla. Top with chicken slices, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and avocado. Roll the tortilla up tightly, leaving the ends open or tucking them in burrito-style.

Enjoy and serve with extra dipping sauce.

Final Thoughts

An air fryer BLT is such a fun, quick, and easy lunch or dinner idea. I love to prepare the ingredients at the beginning of the week to have on hand whenever I or my kids want a tasty and simple sandwich.
