This simple honey glaze is a great option for cooked carrots. In fact, as I stir in the softened butter and honey, I am reminded of honey butter. Um, yum! I mean, it makes sense that it would smell like honey butter since honey and butter are both involved, but pouring that over carrots is genius. Honey and butter are almost always a good combo in my opinion.

I would love to make this without the sugar…how do you think I could? Use more honey? or do you think that the 1 tbsp even matters that much?
I haven’t tried this recipe other than how it is written, so I don’t know for sure how it would turn out. Adding more honey would be an option – honey flavor can sometimes be overpowering, but it is only 1 Tbsp, so maybe it would be fine. Another option would be to sub for a different type of sugar, like maple syrup, coconut sugar, stevia or something like that?
This grilled glazed carrot recipe is good and doesn’t have refined sugar. Not sure if it would work in the slow cooker too or not though.
