How to make this Apple Pie Bombs in the Air Fryer:
Step 1: Mix the seasonings and apple filling
In a small bowl, mix the sugar and apple pie spice completely and then set it aside.
In a separate small bowl, combine the apple pie filling with a teaspoon of cinnamon to add even more flavor and mix it well to combine.
Step 2: Prepare the biscuits
Take the biscuits from the refrigerator and cut each of the biscuits half.
After cutting the biscuits, flatten out each biscuit to thin it out, about 4 inches across.
Step 3: Fill the biscuits
With each of the biscuit halves, form a little bowl and add a tablespoon or so apple pie filling mixture to the center of each circle.
Then finish assembling the apple pie bombs by:
- Cover the biscuit over itself.
- Pinch the seams together to close to seal them.
- Roll into a ball.
- Repeat this for the remaining amount of biscuits.
Step 4: Place bombs in the air fryer
Lightly spray the air fryer basket, or place a sheet of air fryer parchment paper.
Place the balls into an air fryer basket about an inch or two apart. You will likely need to work in batches.
Step 5: Cook the apple pies
Once the pie bombs are in the air fryer, air fry at them at 330˚F or 166˚C for 8 minutes. Flip the bombs, and cook for an additional 2-4 minutes, or until the tops are fully cooked and golden brown.
Carefully remove the balls from the air fryer, dipping each in melted butter.
Step 6: Finish the apple pie bombs
Roll each dipped apple pie bomb into the apple pie spice and sugar mixture. Repeat with the remaining batches.
Serve immediately or at room temperature with vanilla icing or caramel sauce.
