It only takes 8 minutes to cook in the air fryer and you can prepare the meat and vegetables as far in advance as you want. This is the perfect recipe to meal prep for and cook on a busy night. Everyone will fall in love with the delicious flavors from the marinade.

What You Need to Make Asian Beef and Veggies in the Air Fryer

This recipe is filled with ingredients that are packed with flavors! There are two parts, the beef & vegetables and the marinade ingredients. For the beef and vegetables, you need:

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into strips
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 1 medium red pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup sugar snap peas

For these ingredients, feel free to adapt them to your preferences. After the ingredients are prepared, you will add them to the marinade. For the marinade, you need:

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoons red chili flakes
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Optional: 1 tsp Chinese 5 spice

How to Make Air Fryer Asian Beef and Veggies

Prepare the marinade ingredients in either a bowl or Ziploc bag. I recommend using the Ziploc bag. This will make it easier to mix the ingredients together (you can simply seal the bag and shake it), and it will be easier to marinate the beef and vegetables.

Once the marinade ingredients are all mixed together, place the steak and vegetables inside and marinate for at least 1 hour.

When you are ready to cook the beef and veggies, preheat the air fryer at 400°F/204°C for 5 minutes. Spray the air fryer basket with avocado oil. Then, using tongs, take the meat and veggies out of the marinade and place inside the air fryer basket. Discard the marinade.

Cook in the air fryer at 400°F/204°C for 8 minutes.  You don’t need to stir the meat and veggies.

Serve with 2-3 cups of cooked rice, 3 sliced scallions, and 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds.

Freezer Option

This is such a great meal because you can prepare and freeze it for later use. First, combine the beef, veggies, and the marinade together in a Ziploc bag. Then date and place the meal in the freezer.

When you are ready to cook the meal, place the bag in the refrigerator and let it defrost for 24 hours. Then proceed with the cooking instructions for the air fryer! Now, you can enjoy this meal anytime you want!

Equipment

Ingredients

Beef and Veggies

  • 1 lb sirloin steak cut into strips
  • ½ onion sliced
  • 1 medium red pepper sliced
  • 1 cup sugar snap peas

Marinade

Instructions

  • Prep the steak, onion, red pepper, and snap peas. The steak should be sliced against the muscle length.
  • In a medium bowl or Ziploc bag (I recommend using a Ziploc bag), mix the marinade ingredients together (garlic, chili flakes, soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar, water, and Chinese 5 spice).
  • Add the beef and veggies to the bowl or Ziploc bag and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat the air fryer at 400°F/204°C for 5 minutes.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with avocado oil.
  • Using tongs, add all the beef and veggies to the air fryer basket. Discard the marinade.
  • Cook in the air fryer at 400°F/204°C for 8 minutes. No need to stir.
  • Serve with sliced scallions, sesame seeds, and rice.

Freezer Meal Instructions:

  • First, combine the beef, veggies, and the marinade together in a Ziploc bag. Then, date and place the bag flat in the freezer.
  • Take out of the freezer the morning or night before using. Since the marinade is a soy sauce base, sometimes it can overwhelm the beef and veggies. To avoid this, about 3 hours before cooking, get a bowl and a strainer. Place the strainer in the bowl, dump out the marinade into the strainer/bowl. Leave the beef and veggies in the strainer and the marinade in the bowl. Cover with the plate and place back in the refrigerator until you are ready to cook.
  • Preheat the air fryer at 400°F/200°C for 5 minutes. Cook for 8 minutes at 400°F/200°C, checking on it at the halfway point.
  • Remove from the air fryer and enjoy with rice!

Recipe Notes

Serve with 2-3 cups cooked rice, 3 sliced scallions & 2 tablespoons of sesame seed.

Comments & Reviews

  • Thank you for this recipe, everyone loved it! Next time I will double the marinade and use half as sauce (hubby always wants sauce). Quick and easy, and the flavor was great. You were right didn’t even have to stir it, it’s a keeper.

  • Just made this for the first time – doubled the veg, slightly less meat, and cooked off the marinade to drizzle over the top. Delicious! Meat was tender, veggies just the right amount of crunch. This will definitely be regularly on the menu.
And the best bit? I’ve got another bag in the freezer.

  • My absolute favorite air fryer recipe. Always Make a large batch and freeze half for later. Gave my sister one of my frozen packages and told her to try it. This was the second meal she ever made in her air fryer and loves it. Yes – you should drain the everything before cooking for at least 2 hours as it does become “salty” from the soy sauce. Now I have to make even more extra for her to have!
