Homemade Face Peel Mask for Dry Skin and Acne

DIY Face Peel Mask

Even as an adult my face seems to still find itself having a blemish or break out from time to time. I even have dry patches or rough spots on occasion.

I’m always looking for new, better ways to combat these problems, and this homemade face peel has been my favorite way recently. Using face peels is a really great way to remove dead skin, blackheads, and even that unwanted peach fuzz.

Now sure, you could go buy a face peel product at that store (you know, the ones that are all full of harsh chemicals) but why do that when you can make your own for pennies using natural items! Let me show you how…

Homemade Face Peel Ingredients:

Lavender essential oil

Warning!

This stuff works. It works so well that it will remove peach fuzz off our face and even other facial hair like eyebrows.

Please use caution where you put this on your face and pay attention when you go to peel it off.

If you happen to get it on your eyebrows or any other hair you wish to keep on your face just get yourself a wet washcloth and wipe it up until its gone.

The first time I did this peel, I didn’t pay attention to the warning and I lost some eyebrows! Don’t let that be you. It hurts. BAD!

Now with that out of the way, let me tell you, this is the godfather of all face peels. I have never used one that works as well and to be honest, I don’t even know if I would try another one because I am so in love with the results of this one.

Benefits of a Face Peel

Like I mentioned above, I sometimes have issues with blackheads, blemishes, dry skin, etc. I am sure all of you have your fair share of facial trials too!

A Face Peel is known for helping:

  • Reduces fine lines around your eyes and mouth
  • Treats certain kinds of acne
  • Lessens the appearance of scars
  • Reduces age spots
  • Treats wrinkles
  • Reduces dark patches and freckles
  • And much much more!

I mean why not give it a try? I have loved the results I have seen from it and the best part is that you can make it with items ALREADY found in your pantry! Seriously, nothing gets better than that.

How to Make Your Homemade Face Peel Mask

Make sure before you mix all the ingredients that you have washed and dried your face really well so that this peel will adhere well.

Making the DIY face mask peel

Step 1. Gelatin and Milk

First, we need to make sure we mix all of our ingredients up. I first mix together my gelatin and the milk. It will be lumpy, really like a glob.

Mixing the gelatin and milk

Step 2. Microwave

We need to heat this mixture up in the microwave to get it working correctly. Each microwave is different, it takes mine about 10 seconds on high to heat up.

You don’t want it super hot because you will have to apply this to your face very soon after heating because it hardens quickly as it cools.

Step 3. Essential Oil

After heating the milk and gelatin, the mixture should be the consistency of babies rice cereal. Mix it well and then add in about 4 drops of lavender essential oil.

I will admit, this mixture doesn’t smell that great, but once you add your Lavender in, it smells better, I promise!

Applying the DIY Face Peel

Next, it’s time to coat the face. AGAIN, PLEASE AVOID YOUR EYEBROWS! You don’t want this very thick and a little bit goes a long way here. Once you have it where you want it, it’s time to wait it out.

At first, your face will just feel wet but within minutes you will start to feel your face tighten. Try not to wrinkle your face at this time.

You will know when it’s time to peel it off when you no longer have to stop yourself from wrinkling your face, you just won’t be able to. This whole process takes about 35 minutes.

I put my face peel on too thick one time and used a hair dryer on medium heat to speed up the drying time! My advice is to stick to a thin layer!

Peeling

Now, on to the fun part. Peeling! You will start seeing where the face peel has cracked on your face, those are the easiest places to start the peel at! This is usually around my mouth for me.

I like to look at each piece I peel off. You will be shocked at how dirty your face is, I promise!

It’s that easy!

Feel that smooth face? It’s amazing, right?

You can try this out any time you want and I promise you will notice an immediate difference! I like to do this about once a month and it makes a huge difference with how my skin feels.

Give it a try! We can’t wait to hear how it goes.
