Best All Natural Honey and Egg Hair Mask DIY
How to Make a DIY Hair Mask for Damaged Hair
During the harsh winter months, my hair will get so dry because of the air. I have the same problem if I use cheaper shampoo and conditioner products for too long too.
I have used products in the past that are meant to help with this. They work BUT they also contain harsh chemicals, cost extra money, and they usually leave my hair feeling heavy, weighted, and sometimes even oily or greasy.
So, I did some searching and came across this all natural egg hair mask DIY that I love. Bonus.. it leaves my hair smelling fresh and looking amazing!
If you are looking to bring back some life to your hair, check out this quick and easy do it yourself hair mask…
DIY Hair Mask Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1-2 Eggs (This depends on how long your hair is)
- 2 Tablespoons of Honey
- 5 drops of Geranium Essential Oil
Step 1. Gather the Ingredients
Gather up all your DIY hair mask ingredients and get ready for a quick and easy hair makeover! You might be able to get away with one egg, but if you have long or thick hair, you will want to go with two. That way, you’ll have enough to cover all of your hair.
Step 2. Add the first ingredients
Add your olive oil, honey, and eggs into a container. The olive oil, honey, and eggs will help bring back the moisture and smoothness to your hair.
Step 3. Add the essential oil
Adding 5 drops of Geranium essential oil to your will help bring back the vibrant healthy glow you are missing. Not to mention it smells AMAZING in your hair. I like to add a few drops in my shampoo bottle for this too!
Seriously, I can’t get over how amazing this stuff makes my hair smell and how it brings back such a nice shine! It makes a serious difference!
Step 4. Mix it all up
Mix it all up and you are ready to go!
How to Apply the Egg Hair Mask
When I do this, I just do it in my hair as is. I don’t wash it or anything prior and I always like to do it on dry hair, that way I can tell where I have applied the mask. You want to make sure you get it all over your hair!
Step 1. Apply the mixture
Apply the egg hair mask to your hair starting at the roots and working towards the ends of your hair.
Step 2. Wrap it up
Once you have got all of your hair coated in this mixture, you’ll want to cover it up with something. Here are some options:
- Place a shower cap on
- Wrap your hair and scalp in saran wrap; or
- Go way old school and wrap your hair and scalp in a plastic grocery bag (no joke, this is what I do)
Wrapping up your hair creates heat which opens up the follicles and lets the hair soak up all the nutrients and vitamins you are giving it!
Leave your hair wrapped for 30-60 minutes. I usually do about an hour, but this just depends on the length and thickness of hair.
Step 3. Wash
Wash with shampoo and conditioner and check out that gorgeous hair you brought back to life!
How Easy Was That?
That is ALL you have to do. It is so simple and easy! My goal is to always give you DIYs that you can do with the products that you already have in your pantry and this hair mask is at the top of the list.
