Cake Mix Crinkle Cookies Recipe

This crinkle cookie recipe is one of my favorite go-to easy cookie recipes and it can be adapted so many ways! These cookies are made simply from just yellow cake mix, oil, eggs, powdered sugar, and some food coloring.

Now although I made green shamrock cookies here, you could just change out the colors and have these for any holiday really! I think pink and purple would be fun for Easter and Red would work for both Christmas and Valentine’s Day…so many options!

You can also use other flavors of cake mixes, but if you’re planning on using food coloring you would want to stay away from chocolate.

Why are they called crinkle cookies?

Well, when you look at the cookies you can see that they have some nice cracks and grooves in them, that’s the crinkle. These cookies get that crinkled effect from rolling them in powdered sugar before baking them.

Serving tips

These crinkle cookies are already a very pretty cookie so you could simply just throw them on a cookie platter and leave it at that. You could also add some flare to them with some sort of caramel or chocolate sauce. Let us know if you have other customization ideas!

These cookies are great for parties, potlucks and cookie exchanges! They’re also quite unique looking so they’re sure to stand out among other desserts!

If you haven’t already, you need to try these chocolate cookies. They’re triple chocolate and they’re probably the best cookies I’ve ever had.

Some other ones that I would recommend would be these lemon cream cheese cookies, toffee bits cookies, and these amazing chocolate chip cheesecake cookie bars. Just thinking about these recipes is making me hungry!
