The Best Fry Sauce Recipe

If you are from Utah or Idaho, you’ve probably heard of fry sauce before! It’s a must-have with French fries and more for a lot of people there. Growing up, homemade fry sauce was a staple on Saturday night burger night. Now I carry on that tradition with this even tastier version of the recipe!

Fry sauce is basically a mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise, but this recipe takes it up a notch with extra flavor and spices.

how to make fry sauce

We still have the ketchup and mayo in there, but I’m loving the addition of a little bit of sugar, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, paprika, ground mustard, and onion powder.

Use a Kitchen Scale to Measure

Grab your kitchen scale, if you have one! It makes measuring the mayo and ketchup so much easier and less mess. Place the mixing bowl on the scale, zero it out, then add the mayo until the scale says 120 grams. Zero it out again, then add the ketchup until the scale says 68 grams. Easy peasy.

Then you just need a tablespoon, 1/2 teaspoon, and a 1/4 teaspoon for the rest of the ingredients. I love these measuring spoons, by the way!

Letting the sauce sit in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving allows the flavors to meld together. Otherwise, this fry sauce recipe really is super quick and easy!

What to Serve with Fry Sauce

Try fry sauce on your next burger, with French fries, corn dogs, dip your grilled cheese sandwich, and chicken tenders. What do you like to eat with fry sauce?

Cooking French fries in an air fryer is my favorite way to do it. You can make delicious fries from scratch with this Air Fryer French Fries recipe or just grab a bag of frozen fries and cook them in your air fryer. (I have the Cosori 5.8 Qt air fryer and I love it!)
