How to Make Crazy Easy Halloween Party Treats: Witches Hats and Broomsticks
Are you hosting a Halloween Party this year? Or maybe you are in charge of the Halloween classroom party at your child’s school? These easy Halloween Treats are so simple to make and can be put together really in just a few minutes! Plus, the kids think they are awesome!
In fact, these Halloween treats can be assembled so easily they would be great to let the kids do for a fun Halloween party craft or activity at any age. I actually let all of my kids, even the youngest, help make these sweet treats and they absolutely loved it. They loved unwrapping the Reese’s and Hershey kisses. These super easy Halloween treats aren’t necessarily a healthy Halloween snack, BUT they are a quick and easy recipe to put together!
What You Need
You only need 5 ingredients to make these delicious and adorable Witches Hats and Broomsticks! For the Witches Broomsticks you need Pretzel Sticks and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I never would have thought to mix pretzels with Reese’s Cups, but they were so tasty! This is a perfect combination of soft & crunchy plus sweet & salty!
For the witches hats you need Keebler Grasshopper Fudge Mint Cookie, Hershey’s Kisses, and Icing or Melted Chocolate. I used melted white chocolate chips and microwaved them for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between so it doesn’t burn, until it was a smooth consistency.
How to Make Candy Broomsticks
These are so incredibly simple! All you need is pretzel sticks and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. You can make enough of these Halloween treats for your child’s classroom in just 15 minutes! Just be sure not to press too hard when inserting the pretzel sticks because they will break. Twisting the pretzel a little as I gently inserted it worked best to make a snug fit without splitting the Reese’s cups. However my kids did love eating the broken Reese’s cups. I will warn you that these simple treats are super yummy so you may even find yourself snacking while you put them together. In cases like this I usually just double my batch from the beginning to be sure I have plenty for my guests!
How to Make Witches Hat Treats
These sweet witches hats are far from scary or wicked, unless you count them as being wickedly delicious. I have seen these done with several different cookies, but my favorite by far to use is Keebler Grasshopper Fudge Mint Cookies. They taste just like the Girl Scout Cookie Thin Mints (which I love)! I also use an original Hershey’s Kiss, but you can definitely surprise your guests with caramel or peanut butter inside if you prefer to buy that kind. When I made this batch I used melted white chocolate which gave a nice contrast as it is not overly sweet like some other flavors can be. You could also go with a nice semi-sweet chocolate or chocolate icing to put these together and I am sure they will be just as yummy!
Final Thoughts
These yummy and creative Halloween treats are so easy to make! You can whip these together an hour before a classroom party or a Halloween party. They also keep really well for leftovers or to make ahead prior to your gathering! I would store them separately though, as the mint flavor does tend to slightly seep into the broomsticks if you place them together. And as a bonus, these treats were very cheap and can make a ton of them, depending how many you want. I hope you enjoy making them as much as my kids and I did! Let us know if you tried any different flavors of candy or cookie and how it went. Happy treat making!

Hello! I’m wondering how you don’t smash the Reese’s when making the witch broom… :/
Hi Jessica-
I place the pretzel right through the center and I only press it about half way into the Reeses. Hope that helps you!!!
I was wondering what the other thing was that was made with pretzel sticks.
