DIY Autumn Banner

Are y’all ready for fall and cooler weather?

Last year I made a cute Halloween banner for my mantle and I decided I wanted to put it somewhere else in my house, so I needed a different one for my mantle. {If you want to make this one you can see how to make it here:}

Here is my Autumn one…

I figure I can leave this one up until Christmas, which is nice for me! Today I’m going to show you how easy it is to make! It took me less than 30 minutes to make it and cost under $5!

Here’s what you need:

• Brown coffee filters (I don’t drink coffee but these were only $1 and I’ll figure something out to use them for)
• Washi Tape (I keep buying more, so I have to come up with projects to use it on!)
• Clothespins
• Solid cardstock
• Ribbon
• pop dots
• glue gun

I used my trusty Silhouette to cut out my letters, pumpkins and leaves. {You can get one here for a great price!} I got my cardstock at Joann’s, one finally opened where I live! I used the font Oklahoma, you can find it for FREE here!  The pumpkin shape was one I got from the silhouette store.  If you don’t have a silhouette (it makes a great Christmas present) you can print out the letters on cardstock in reverse and then cut them by hand, not as quick but it still works!  For those doing that, the font size is 367 point.  If you have a Silhouette you can download my banner letters here.

After you get them cut out lay them out and use the pop dots {find some here}, if you don’t have them you can use your glue gun. I used them for this project so the letters would pop a little bit off the pumpkins.

I used 3 coffee filters for each letter. I tried it out not gluing them together and they didn’t stay together very well. So just put a dot of hot glue in the center of each coffee filter.

Now ready to glue the pumpkins and letters onto the coffee filters. I just put the glue in the center of the pumpkins and then centered the pumpkins on the coffee filter.

Now to decorate the clothes pins. I keep by washi tape lately. GroopDealz had a great deal a few weeks ago and I stocked up. I also found it on clearance at Target this week! So I put some washi tape on my clothespins {like for the Chore Chart I made in this past summer}

I have my fave 3m Hooks on my fireplace that I tied my ribbon to. I have had this ribbon in my stash for years and can’t remember where I got it from, probably Hobby Lobby.

Then you just clip on your coffee filter letters. I started in the center and worked my way out.

I felt like it needed a little more so I clipped some leaves that I cut out on each end.

Here’s the finished product with all  some of my owls {I am kind of obsessed with owls and keep buying them, they are perfect for decorating this time of the year though}. I love how it turned out.
