Best Buy Recalls Insignia Pressure Cookers Due To Burn Hazard

Why Are Insignia Pressure Cookers Being Recalled?

There have been 17 reports of second-degree and other severe burns as a consequence of a malfunction with the pressure cookers. As a result, Best Buy is recalling nearly a million Insignia pressure cookers. The units were sold throughout the United States and Canada from October 2017 to June 2023.

Insignia Models Being Recalled:

Insignia pressure cookers being recalled have the model numbers: NS-MC60SS8, NS-MC60SS9, or NS-MC80SS9, and inner pots with model numbers NS-MCRP6NS9 and NS-MCRP6SS9. If you have a recalled pressure cooker, please immediately stop using it and register to receive a free replacement of the inner pot and floating locking valve for signaling pressure.

Locate the model number on the permanent label on the side of pressure cooker to confirm you have a recalled unit, then head HERE and scroll down to REGISTER your recall. Upon completion of processing a valid registration, they will send you a replacement kit with an inner pot and floating locking valve for signaling pressure to the address you provide at no charge to you. Note: you must have a recalled pressure cooker to participate in the recall. If you have a replacement inner pot but do not have a recalled pressure cooker you are not affected by this recall.
