Fun Halloween Games and Activity Ideas for Kids

Kids love holiday-themed games! I searched and found what I consider the best Halloween game ideas and activities and I think you’re going to love them! They’re fun and affordable.

If you have a Halloween party coming up, then check these fun ideas out! The pumpkin bowling and golfing are my favorites!

Halloween themed games and activities

1. Pumpkin Toss

This game looks AWESOME. And it is super affordable!

We all know the little Pumpkin candies! They are a huge favorite at my house. All you have to do is buy a bag and some jars! You can use your own kitchen cups, mason jars, or buy these adorable little caldrons. They are super affordable!

There is little to no setup for this game and it will keep your kids entertained for hours. Plus this is an awesome game for a school party!

Thanks, Playground Parkbench!

2. Pumpkin Bowling

This one sounds so fun! Your kids get to literally just make their own bowling game! Use a pumpkin as the ball and then you can use plastic bottles, paper towels, toilet paper or whatever you wish as your ghosts!

The goal is to use the pumpkin to knock out all the ghosts just like bowling! This is so cute and so fun!

Thanks, Invitation Boutique!

3. Spider Races

What a fun game! We all have seen the little spider rings around Halloween! They are super cheap and can be found anywhere. All you have to do is get a few, buy some milkshake straws, and let the games begin!

Find a good surface for them to do this on and see who can have the fastest spider! I am definitely going to do this one at my daughter’s party!

Thanks, Still Playing School!

4. Pin the Spider on the Web

We all have played pin the tail on the donkey, but what about pin the spider on the web? This is such a cute, inexpensive activity!

Download the printable here and get it printed at any office supply store! It will be super cheap to print. Then you are set to go!! Kids will adore this game!

Thanks, Ella Claire!

5. Pumpkin Golf

This is AWESOME! I realize it could be a little time consuming, but it could be a family project. Each child could be in charge of creating one hole of the golf course! This would be such a fun family night.

All you need is pumpkins, a few golf balls, and some clubs. If you don’t have clubs, use sticks! Make it affordable and make it fun!

Thanks, A Girl and a Glue Gun!

6. Rock Monsters

Rocks are everywhere! So why not use them to make crafts! Let each kid go out and pick their perfect rock, then they can come inside and create their monster!

Just simply buy some paint, glue, and googley eyes and you are set! They will love this fun craft where they can create something all by themselves.

7. Donut Eating Contest

Throw some donuts on a string and let everyone have their own! See who can eat it off the string the fastest WITHOUT using their hands! It is hilarious to watch and your kids will love getting to have a donut!

To make this even more fun, head to a store that decorates donuts and try to find some Halloween ones to add that extra touch!

Thanks, Fireflies and Mud Pies!

8. The Pumpkin Run

Make this as hard or as easy as you wish! You can buy the smaller pumpkins (like in the picture below) or you can buy bigger ones and have a pumpkin race where they have to balance the pumpkin on their heads, not using their hands. The first one to the finish line wins!

It may seem simple, but kids LOVE this game! Maybe you can come up with small rewards for the winners as well.

Thanks, Pen + Paper Flowers!

9. DIY Halloween Photo Booth

Kids and adults all adore photo booths! They are so awesome! To make your own, all you need is a white sheet and then you create everything else!

This post has a bunch of ideas for those who are not sure what you want! Especially for school parties, this could be an awesome Halloween station so all the parents have a way of taking pictures of their kids! I love to go back and look at all my old Halloween party pictures! What a wonderful time!

PS: This is a super easy, awesome Instant Camera! It would be awesome for a photo booth like this!

Thanks, Jennifer Lee!

10. Glow Stick Pumpkin Ring Toss

This idea is brilliant! All you need are some glow sticks and pumpkins with stems and you have a game of ring toss! Create some sort of prize and everyone will want to play this classic game. I have never seen it done on pumpkins so this will be a nice twist!

Thanks, Kids Friendly Things to Do!
