Hydration Drink Recipe
An All-Natural, Homemade Hydration Sports Drink Recipe!
Make sure your kids drink lots of water during active summer days! For those times when they would benefit from something more – a drink with electrolytes and carbs – this hydration drink is a natural and healthy option.
A hydration drink or sports drink is great before, after, and during prolonged strenuous or high intensity activities and sports. The carbs provide a quick source of energy. The electrolytes in the drink help keep the body balanced while other electrolytes are lost through sweat. Sports drinks from the store often contain artificial sweeteners, colors, and other unnecessary ingredients though.
You can use all natural and healthy ingredients to mix up your own hydration drink! The natural source of electrolytes in this recipe is coconut water. Coconut water is a wonderful hydration drink on its own, but you can add in some 100% juice to enhance the flavor of the drink and add some carbs. Raw honey is a great sweetener and source of carbs for athletes too.
Throw all of the ingredients into your blender and blend it up for 1 minute. Done!
Apple juice works well in this hydration drink recipe, but feel free to try out other flavors too if you want. Start with 1 tablespoon of raw honey and add more if needed for sweetening. (I used about 2 tablespoons of honey.)
You can store the hydration drink in individual-sized drink containers or mason jars in the fridge and just grab one on your way out the door!

Stainless Steel Magnetic Measuring Spoons, Set of 5
Love that these measuring spoons have a narrow end for spice jars and the magnets make them easy to stick together and pull apart.
