Walgreens Balance Rewards

In order to shop at Walgreens and receive the sale prices you must sign up for their loyalty card.  You can do this online, at Walgreens.com/Balance, call them, or sign up in store.  If you already have a Walgreens account, it only takes a few seconds!  If you don’t it should take less than a minute.

Earning points is automatic and easy!  Plus they work just like other loyalty programs, and you can redeem them in-store or online!  Unlike Register Rewards, they don’t count towards your coupon count!  And they are not limited to one per customer!  Points are available by purchasing the specific items mentioned in the ad.  Not all items will receive points,  and points are based off the items, not off the cost of the item.

Examples:

Nice Water 24 pack for $1.99!  (The Stock Up Price for water is less than $0.10 per bottle.)  So, when you add in the Balance Reward Points (roughly 100 BRP=$0.10) you get an additional $0.50 off the water, making your OOP $1.99, but your Final Price $1.49 or $0.06 per bottle!

Sometimes it’s complicated  to hit the dollar value.  As of yet, we don’t know if there is leeway on the dollar amount purchased.  Coke is on sale in this example for 3/$11 or $3.99 each, and when you spend $15, you receive 5,000 BRP.  But, if you buy 4, you are only at $14.99.  Usually if there is a limit less than the dollar amount, there is a corresponding sale on a smaller item (like in this case 2 liter sodas) to get you up to the proper dollar amount.

Buying more than one item.  Gain and Tide Pods are on sale for $4.99 each, and you receive 1,000 BRP when you buy 2, or basically $1 worth of points off of 2.  For the Tide/Bounty it’s 5,000 BRP wyb 2, so you get $2.50 worth of points for each item.

In the match-ups, all of Balance Rewards redemption values are based off a $5/5000 BRP redemption.  Your points are worth more the longer you save them, but to make our/your life a little less complicated, we are basing the redemption off the lowest possible value.

Like Register Rewards, +Up Rewards, and Extra Bucks, we list the OOP (Out of Pocket), then the Reward value (if it has RR and BRP, we’ll list both), then the final price with the reward factored in (at the $5=5,000 BRP rate).

Example: Stride iD Gum

The Gum is on sale for 2/$2
Then you use the $1/2 Coupon
And you Final OOP is $0.50 each
Then you receive 1000 Balance points for buying 2 (1000 BRP=$1.00)
Final Price: FREE!

In the matchups, it’ll look like this:

 iD Gum – $1.00

Point Redemption

Make sure you don’t redeem points on a transaction you should receive points on, or you won’t get them.   Only redeem points on non Balance Reward transactions.
