Dutch Oven Spaghetti

 dutch oven spaghetti

I am sharing another favorite camping recipe for those of you that will be camping during the 4th of July. Introducing Dutch Oven Spaghetti also referred to as Goulash. This camping dinner recipe is really filling after a long day of hiking. My husband and I will be going on a youth pioneer trek this summer and will be helping on the cook crew cooking for more than 250 people. This is the first meal we have planned for our hungry hikers. It has been a favorite meal in years past.

This is another fabulous campfire cooking recipe using dutch ovens from my friend Ryan who serves as the head cook on these trek adventures. He is no stranger to campfire or dutch oven cooking.  This recipe feeds about 20 people. You can modify this recipe to feed less if you cook in a smaller dutch oven or make more in a 16 inch dutch oven.

To make this recipe even easier while camping I have included a few preparation things you can do at home that will really simplify and speed up the process for making this meal.

Supplies you will need:

14 inch dutch oven
28 charcoals
Tongs to move hot coals
mixing and serving spoon
Charcoal Lighter Basket
Dutch Oven Lid Lifter

Instructions

  1. Before you leave home for camp, cook your macaroni al dente and pre-cook your hamburger.
