DIY Neighbor and Friend Gift {Holiday Frame}

I love to give my friends and neighbors little gifts at Christmas time. Sometimes I make different holiday goodies and other times I like to make them something that isn’t edible. I came up with some different FREE printables to use in my favorite unfinished frames {just like the ones we used for the mom and sister gifts}1 Christmas presents-42

Here’s what you need to make your own:

Christmas presents-14

  • Mod Podge {get it here if you don’t have any, it will last FOREVER}
  • Unfinished Dollar Frames {Michael’s they were on sale for 75 cents when I got them!}
  • Patterned Scrapbook Paper in Holiday Colors { a fun set}
  • Foam Brush {get some here for your stash}
  • Sanding block {find one here, they last FOREVER too}
  • Download your Free Printables here and print them out I made an assortment so hopefully you can find one that works for you!
  • Embellishments {you can find some here}

First put a thin layer of Mod Podge all over the frame.  Rub the paper all over to make sure there are no bubbles

lay it face down until it dries.

Fold down the edges and sand them off in a downward motion.

Christmas presents-23

Cut an X in the center of the frame and use a nail file to sand off the inside.

Make sure you file in a downward motion or you will tear your paper. It would be really easy to spray paint a bunch of frames too, if you wanted to go that way with them instead of the paper.

Download and print your FREE printable here. I made a few different ones for y’all to choose from.

publisher screens shot

I used Microsoft publisher to print my prints. I love to print my own printables on Bazzill Cardstock. It has a texture to it that makes the prints look even better. You can find some here. Once you have them printed, trim them down. I used the backing to make sure I cut them to the right size and then I put the print in the frame with the backing behind it.

I hadn’t planned on putting anything on the outside of the frame, but they were screaming for something so I went to my stash. I had picked these fun silver glitter bows up at Michael’s and decided they were the perfect touch. I got 3 for $1 and I liked that even more. They had lots of different colors of bows too.

I took the tails off of this bow before I attached it with a glue dot. I love how they turned out. I think it is a great gift to give friends, neighbors or even teachers! I love how you an personalize it to match their décor with any paper you an find.
