It’s a bit early to get your Garden going outside, but you can start indoors today! Did you know that you can regrow lettuce? I LOVE doing this, and you can try it out for yourself! First, cut off the leaves that you will use, and then trim the bottom of your head of lettuce. (I have been regrowing green leaf.) Next, set it in a cup filled with a small amount of water and then set by a window, and watch it grow! It takes a bit to get it going, so if you want to enjoy a plentiful salad right away, I suggest regrowing 2 or 3 heads at a time.

While there’s still snow in some parts you can start planning for your garden layout now. In my own garden we will have 7 raised beds, 1 in-ground plot, and 3 barrels for lettuce, spinach & herbs this year. We have a big back yard and our garden takes up about 1/4 of it, and we are hoping to continue expanding it! Here’s a Peek at my Garden Layout. But no matter the size of ground you have available, you can plan out a garden and get ready to plant something!!

Over the next several weeks I will be sharing more of my gardening adventures with you to help you save money and enjoy the fruits (and veggies) of your own labor!
