Freezer Meal Recipe: Sausage With Peppers and Onions
This was a very easy meal for me to fix when I was late getting home. The combination of veggies and sausage is delicious and I served it over rice but it is also commonly served as a hoagie. I have made this many times now and have enjoyed it as a quick meal that can be used at lunch or dinner! You can add other vegetables to the mix like zucchini and squash.

You can freeze this recipe to use for a busy day just chop the sausage, garlic, and vegetables and place in a gallon size freezer bag. Combine the tomatoes, pepper flakes and combine them in a sandwich bag to be placed with the vegetables inside the gallon size freezer bag.
Prepare by removing from freezer, defrost and stir fry for 5 minutes or until heated through. You can make this meal for under $10 so it is not only delicious, but frugal too!

Freezer Meal Recipe: Sausage With Peppers and Onions
Ingredients
- 19 ounce package frozen Johnsonville Mild Italian Sausage slices
- 1 medium green pepper thinly sliced
- 1 medium red pepper thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 14.5 ounce can of diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- In a large skillet, saute the sausage, peppers, onion and garlic in oil until vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and pepper flakes. Cook and stir for 5 minutes or until heated through.
- Serve on Hoagie or sub rolls or with rice, if desired.
TO FREEZE:
